In the name of God
The compassionate the
merciful
Oh people of the bible
Holy Quran 3:64
:say :O people
of the book !come to common terms as between us and you :that we worship none
but Allah ;that we associate no partners with him ;that we erect not, from
among ourselves, lords and patrons other than Allah .If then they turn back, say
ye: bear
witness that we (at least) are Muslims (Bowing to Allah will).
2 - Knowing Allah
Some would say: Yes God is one; but he is
ours (i.e. the way they think of him). Because of his mercy God have given us
some hints to differentiate between him and any other thing, God must have
these differences from his creatures to be God .Once more these differences are
the same in Quran as in the Bible by its two portions (Old testament - New
testament).
Some of these
differences are:
A- God is
invisible unseen hidden no one can see him in this life.
These are some of the bible verses:
Thou canst not see my face :for there shall no man see
me ,and live (Ex
33:20), but my
face shall not be seen (ex 33:23), we cannot find him out (Jb 37:23 ), God is great ,and we know him not (Jb 36:26.), verily thou art a God that
hidest thyself (Is 45:15 ).
No man hath seen
God at any time
Jn 1:18 Jesus said which sent me, hath borne witness of me .Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor
seen his shape Jn
5:37 .Of coarse Jesus was seen by many people, and knew him by there five
senses not the eyes only ,not a single one died seeing him. As the verse says
he was sent by God. Who only hath immortality (according to the bible Jesus had died on
the cross) dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man
has seen nor can see (1Tm 1:17 ), No man hath seen God at anytime (1 Jn 4:12 ).
B - God without a
beginning, he is the maker of the beginning; he is without an ending:
In the Old Testament:
David (PBUH) said: "before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst
formed the earth and the world even from everlasting to everlasting thou art
God. I am the first I am the last" (Is 44: 6), In Jb36: 26 "neither
can the number of his years be searched", in Gn 21: 33on the name of the
Lord the everlasting God , in Ex 15:18 The Lord shall reign for ever and
ever, in Neh 9:5 bless the Lord your God
for ever and ever", in Dn 2:20 Blessed be the name of God for ever
and ever" in Dn 6:26 for he is the living God, and
stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his
dominion shall even unto the end.
In the New Testament
we find these verses: "For thine kingdom, and power and glory, for ever"
(Matt 6:13), "Who changed the truth of God into a lie ,and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator,
who is blessed for ever" (Rome 1:25), "the only wise God, be honour
and glory for ever and ever" (1Tm 1:17), "Lord God Almighty, which
art, and wast, and art to come " (Rv 11:17 ) Lord God almighty which was
and is and is to come
To him that sat on the throne who liveth for ever and
ever (Rv 4:8,9).
In Arabic there
are two words to express the everlasting, first (AZAl) which means existing
without a beginning, (ABAD) which means continuing without an end, they are
used in the Arabic translations of the Bible. They express the truth of God
much more than the English word. We all know that Jesus lived 33 years on earth,
Ezra lived twice and died twice; but his two lives had not exceeded a century, which
means that they had a beginning, and an ending. Most of the people now do not
know that the Jews worship Ezra calling him son of God, because they do not
declare it; but Quran had declared that.
C God has no equal
or similar from the people or any thing else:
Here are some of
the Bible verses that declare this:
O Lord God: for
there is none like thee (2Sm 7:22),O God, who is like unto thee Ps71:19,To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? (Is 40:25),"And who, as
I (Is 44:7),"To whom will ye liken me, and
make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?(Is 46:5),I am God ,and there is none
like me (Is
46:9),
Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee(Jer10:6), Behold ,I am the Lord ,the God f all flesh (Jer 32 :27),which means
that the Lord is without a body for he can not be the Lord of himself .All his
creatures have a body small or large -like angels for instance - ;made of
matter, or light ,or fire - like devils -. He remains the only one without a
shape, because he is endless.
D - God is not
restricted in a place, because he is all over the place. Regarding this the Old
Testament said:
But will God
indeed dwell on the earth? Behold the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot
contain thee, how much less this house that I have built? (1Kgs 8:27), But will God in very deed
dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain
thee; how much less this house which I have built! (2Chr 6:18), it is as high as heaven
what canst thou do? Deeper than hell, what canst thou know? The measure thereof
is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea(Jb 11:8, 9) Do not I fill heaven and
earth? (Jer 23:
24).
The New Testament
also said:
"God that
made the world and all things therein, seeing
that he is Lord of heaven and earth ,dwelleth not in temples made with
hands (Acts
17:24) , Howbeit
the most high dweleth not in temples
made with hands; as saith the prophet. Heaven
is my throne ,and earth is my footstool :what house will ye build for me
saith the Lord :or what is the place of my rest (Act 7: 48,49).Once more Jesus ,and
Ezra dwelled on the earth having a very small size from the described, gone
inside temples.
E- God does not
need anything, he is the rich; who needs any thing is poor of it until he gets
it. God owns the heavens and the earth with what therein.
For instance in
the old testament Gen 14:22 Abraham said I have lift up mine hand unto
the Lord ,the most high God ,the possessor of heaven and earth. And in New Testament in
acts 17:25 Neither
is worshipped with mens hands. as though he needed any thing ,seeing he gives to all life and
breath ,and all things , He even does not need our prayers ,our faith in him, If we do we do
it for our benefit, and in Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both the wisdom and
knowledge of God.
He does not need to eat, "Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in
obeying the voice of the Lord? behold ,to obey is better than sacrifice ,and to
hearken than the fat of rams. , I
will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings ,to have been
continually before me .I will take no bullock out of thy house ,nor goats out
of thy folds .For every beast of the forest is mine ,and the cattle upon a
thousand hills .I know all the fowls of the mountain: and wild beasts of the field
are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and
the fullness thereof. Will I eat the flesh of bulls ,or drink the blood of
goats. (Ps 50:
8-14), To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the
Lord :I am full of the burnt offerings
of rams, and the fat of fed beasts ; and
I delight not the blood of bullocks, or of lambs or of goats . (Is 1:11),To what purpose cometh there to me incense
from
F- He doesnt need to take a nap, to
sleep or to rest; David (PBOH) said speaking about the God that
In the New
Testament: Neither
is worshipped with mens hand .as though he needed any thing, seeing he gives to all life ,and
breath ,and all things (Acts 17:25), O the depth of riches both the wisdom and knowledge of God (Rom 11:33).
Had Jesus or ezra
were different from any other human being in their need to eat, drink, what is
after that, and sleeping?
G - God is living
never dies:
So many times the
God was named in the Bible "the living God". Also here is some verses
affirming so I
live for ever
(Dt 32:40 ) "for he is the living God (Dn 6 :26),Now unto the king eternal ,immortal (1 Tm 1:17), Who only hath immortality (1Tm 6:16), who lives for ever and ever
(Rv 4: 9).
According to the
Bible Jesus died. And Ezra died twice.
H - No one can
hurt God ,no one can defeat God ,no one can oppress God: This can be understood
from Is 44 : 14-17 He heweth down cedars ,and taketh the cypress and the oak
he planteth an ash and the rain doth nourish it. Then
shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof ,and warm himself, yea,
he kindeth it, and baketh bread, Yea, he maketh a God and worshippeth it, he
maketh it a graven image ,and falleth down thereto. He burneth part thereof in
the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh, he roasteth roast, and is
satisfied :yea; he warmeth himself ,and saith Aha I am warm ,I have seen the
fire :and the residue thereof he maketh a God, even his graven image: he
falleth down unto it, and worshippeth
it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver
me; for thou art my God . He means to say, how could it
be a God if it is shaped by others, part of it is burned!
This is also clear
from the mockery of Juash from those who worshipped Baal he said If he be a God, let him
plead for himself, because one hath cast down his alter (Jgs6: 31).
I- God never lies,
forgets, regrets see (Jn 17:17,Rom 1:25,Nm 23:19 ,1Kgs 8:23,Neh 9:32)
J God does not
change. This is clear from Malachi 3: 6, James 1: 17. Jesus or Ezra changed
from none to embryos to infants to children
Ezra had died Jesus as people of
the bible died. They moved they sat down and rise up they slept and walk up!!
In short we can
say that God is eternal in all good aspects, good deeds.
