21 Thereupon the people raised their voices weeping, and said: ‘we have sinned, Lord our God (a), against thee; have mercy upon us (b). 22 And they prayed Jesus, every one, that he would pray for the safety of the holy city, that our God in his anger should not give it over to be trodden down of the nations (c). 3 Thereupon Jesus having lifted up his hands, prayed for the holy city and for the people of God, every one crying: ‘so be it,’ ‘ Amen.’

1 When the prayer was ended, the priest said with a loud voice: ‘Stay Jesus, for we need to know who thou art for the quieting of our nation.’
2 Jesus answered: ‘I am Jesus, son of Mary (e), of the seed of David, a man that is mortal and feareth God, and I seek that to God be given honour and glory ( [1] ).’
3 The priest answered: ‘In the book of Moses it is written that our God must send us the Messiah (f), who shall come to announce to us that which God willeth, and shall bring to the world the Mercy

خلق ذبابة 21 حينئذ رفع الشعب أصواتهم باكين وقالوا : لقد أخطأنا إليك أيها الرب إلهنا (ا) فارحمنا (ب)22 وتضرع كل منهم إلى يسوع ليصلي لأجل أمن المدينة المقدسة لكي لا يدفعها الله في غضبه لتدوسها الأمم (ج) 23 فرفع يسوع يديه وصلى لأجل المدينة المقدسة ولأجل شعب الله وكل يصرخ ليكن كذلك آمين
الفصل السادس والتسعون
1 ولما انتهت الصلاة قال الكاهن بصوت عال : قف يا يسوع لأنه يجب علينا أن نعرف من أنت تسكينا لأمتنا 2 أجاب يسوع : أنا يسوع بن مريم (د) من نسل داود بشر سيموت ويخاف الله وأطلب أن لا يعطي الإكرام والمجد إلا لله ( [2] ) 3 أجاب الكاهن : إنه مكتوب في كتاب موسى أن إلهنا سيرسل لنا مسيا (هـ) الذي سيأتي ليخبرنا بما يريد الله وسيأتي للعالم برحمة
