16 Then Jesus wept saying (a): ‘Woe to the world, for it is sure of eternal torment. 17 Oh wretched mankind, 18 for that God hath chosen thee as a son, granting thee paradise, 19 whereupon thou, O wretched one, by the operation of Satan didst fall under the displeasure of God, and wast cast our of paradise and condemned to the unclean world, where thou receivest all things with toil, and every good work is taken from thee by continual sinning. 20 And the world simply laugheth( [1] ), and, what is worse, he that is the greatest sinner laugheth more than the rest. 21 It will be therefore, as ye have said: that God will give the sentence of eternal death ( [2] ) upon the sinner who laugheth at his sins and weepeth not therefore.’

1 ‘The weeping of the sinner ought to be as that of a father who weepeth over his son nigh to death. 2 Oh madness of man, that weepest over the body from which the soul is departed, and weepest not over the soul from which,

16 ثم بكى يسوع (ا) قائلا : ويل للعالم لأنه سيحل به عذاب أبدي 17 ما أتعسك أيها الجنس البشري 18 فإن الله قد اختارك ابنا واهبا إياك الجنة 19 ولكن أيها التعيس سقطت تحت غضب الله بعمل الشيطان وطردت من الجنة وحكم عليك بالإقامة في العالم النجس حيث تنال كل شيء بكدح وكل عمل لك صالح يحبط بتوالي ارتكاب الخطايا 20 وإنما العالم يضحك ( [3] ) والذي هو شر من ذلك أن الخاطئ الأكبر يضحك أكثر من غيره 21 فسيكون كما قلتم : " إن الله يحكم بالموت الأبدي ( [4] ) على الخاطئ الذي يضحك لخطاياه ولا يبكي عليها "
الفصل الثالث بعد المائة (ب)
1 إن بكاء الخاطئ يجب أن يكون كبكاء أب على ابن مشرف على الموت 2 ما أعظم جنون الإنسان الذي يبكي على جسد فارقته النفس ولا يبكي على النفس
