through sin, is departed the mercy of God!
3 ‘Tell me, if the mariner, when his ship bath been wrecked by a storm, could by weeping recover all that he had lost, what would he do? 4 It is certain that he would weep bitterly. 5 But I say unto you verily, that in every thing wherein a man weepeth he sinneth, save only when he weepeth for his sin. 6 For every misery that cometh to man cometh to him from God for his salvation, so that he ought to rejoice thereat ( [1] ). 7 But sin cometh from the devil for the damnation of man, and at that man is not sad. 8 Assuredly here ye can perceive that man seeketh loss and not profit.’
9 Said Bartholomew: ‘Lord, what shall he do who cannot weep for that his heart is a stranger to weeping?’ Jesus answered: ‘Not all those who shed tears weep, O Bartholomew. 11 As God liveth (a), there are found men from whose eyes no tear hath ever fallen, and they have wept more than a thousand of those who shed tears.

التي فارقتها رحمة الله بسبب الخطيئة 3 قولوا لي إذا قدر النوتي الذي كسرت العاصفة سفينته على أن يسترد بالبكاء كل ما خسر فماذا يفعل ؟ 4 من المؤكد أنه يبكي بمرارة 5 ولكن أقول لكم حقا إن الإنسان يخطئ في البكاء على أي شيء إلا على خطيئته فقط 6 لأن كل شقاء يحل بالإنسان إنما يحل به من الله لخلاصه حتى إنه يجب عليه أن يتهلل له ( [2] ) 7 ولكن الخطيئة إنما تأتي من الشيطان للعنة الإنسان ولا يحزن الإنسان عليها 8 حقا إنكم لا تدركون أن الإنسان إنما يطلب هنا خسارة لا ربحا 9 قال برتولوماوس : يا سيد ماذا يجب أن يفعل من لا يقدر أن يبكي لأن قلبه غريب من البكاء ؟ أجاب يسوع : ليس كل من يسكب العبرات بباك يا برتولوماوس 11 لعمر الله (ا) يوجد قوم لم تسقط من عيونهم عبرة قط بكوا أكثر من ألف من الذين يسكبون العبرات
