who attendeth at revellings and feasts? 18 He will weep even as ice will give fire! ye needs must turn revellings into fasts if ye will have lordship over your senses, because even so hath our God lordship.’
20 Said Thaddaeus: ‘So then, God hath sense over which to have lordship.’
21 Jesus answered: ‘Go ye back to saying, “God hath this,” “God is such ( [1] )?” Tell me hath man sense?’
22 ‘Yea,’ answered the disciples.
23 Said Jesus: ‘ Can a man be found who hath life in him yet in him sense worketh not?
24 ‘No,’ said the disciples.
25 ‘Ye deceive yourselves,’ said Jesus, ‘for he that is blind, deaf, dumb, and mutilated where is his sense? And when a man is in a swoon?’
26 Then were the disciples perplexed; 27 when Jesus said: ‘Three things there are that make up man: that is, the soul and the sense and the flesh, each one of itself separate. 28 Our God created the soul and the body as ye have heard, 29 but ye have not yet heard how he created the sense. 30 Therefore to-morrow, if God please, I will tell you all.’
31 And having said this Jesus gave thanks to God, and prayed for the salvation of our people,

من يحضر مجالس الطرب والولائم 18 إنه يبكي كما يعطي الثلج نارا ! 19 فعليكم أن تحولوا مجالس الطرب إلى صوم إذا أحببتم أن يكون لكم سلطة على حواسكم لأن سلطة إلهنا هكذا 20 فقال تداوس : إذا يكون لله حاسة يمكن التسلط عليه ؟ 21 أجاب يسوع : أتعودون إذا للقول بأن لله هذا وأن الله هكذا ( [2] ) ؟ قولوا لي أ للإنسان حاسة ؟ 22 أجاب التلاميذ : نعم 23 فأجاب يسوع : أيمكن أن يوجد إنسان فيه حياة ولا تعمل فيه حاسة ؟ 24 أجاب التلاميذ : لا 25 قال يسوع : إنكم تخدعون أنفسكم فأين حاسة من كان أعمى أو أطرش أو أخرس أو أبتر والإنسان حين يكون في غيبوبة ؟ 26 فتحير حينئذ التلاميذ 27 أما يسوع فقال : يتألف الإنسان من ثلاثة أشياء أي النفس والحس والجسد كل منها مستقل بذاته 28 ولقد خلق (ا) إلهنا النفس والجسد كما سمعتم 29 ولكنكم لم تسمعوا حتى الآن كيف خلق الحس 30 لذلك أقول لكم كل شيء غدا إن شاء الله 31 ولما قال يسوع هذا شكر الله وصلى لخلاص شعبنا
