tree bare fruit there he said to his vinedresser: “Cut down this bad tree, for it cumbereth the ground.”
10 ‘ The vinedresser answered: “Not so, my lord, for it is a beautiful tree.”’
11 ‘ “Hold thy peace,” said the owner, “for I care not for useless beauties. 12 Thou shouldest know that the palm and the balsam are nobler than the fig. 13 But I had planted in the courtyard of my house a plant of palm and one of balsam, which I had surrounded with costly walls, but when these bare no fruit, but leaves which heaped themselves up and putrefied the ground in front of the house, I caused them both to be removed. 14 And now shall I pardon a fig-tree far from the house, which cumbereth my garden and my vineyard where every other tree beareth fruit? Assuredly I will not suffer it any longer.”
15 Then said the vinedresser: “Lord, the soil is too rich. Wait therefore, one year more, for I will prune the fig-plant’s branches, and take away from it the richness of the soil, putting in poor soil with stones, and so shall it bear fruit( [1] ).” ‘

أثمرت قال لكرّامه : "اقطع هذه الشجرة الرديئة لأنها تثقل على الأرض " 10 فأجاب الكرام : " ليس كذلك يا سيدي لأنها شجرة جميلة " 11 فقال له صاحب الأرض : "صه فإنه لا يهمني الجمال بغير جدوى 12 ولكني غرست سابقا في صحن داري فسيلا من النخل ومن البلسان وأحطتهما بجدران نفيسة ولكنهما لما لم يحملا ثمرا بل أوراقا تراكمت وأفسدت الأرض أمام الدار أمرت بنقلهما كليهما 14 أ فأعفوا إذا عن شجرة تين بعيدة عن الدار تثقل على بستاني وعلى كرمي حيث كل شجرة أخرى تحمل ثمرا ؟ إنني لا احتملهما فيما بعد " 15 فقال حينئذ الكرام : "يا سيد إن التربة لمخصبة جدا فانتظر إذا سنة أخرى 16 فإني أشذب أغصان شجرة التين وأزيل عنها التربة المسمدة وأضع تربة فقيرة وحجارة فتثمر ( [2] ) "
[1] Explaining the Parable: The fig tree is Israel’s sons, the three years are the period of Christ (PBOH) preaching. As a result of the miracles People admired Christ ( PBOH); but still they have not faith in God. God permitted persecution to those who admired Jesus personally in order that they have faith in God. It is known that when fertilizer exceeds the plant composes leaves not fruits, So, the parable here is more scientifically accurate than what is found in Luke 13: 6- 9. (writer)
[2] المراد بالمثل : شجرة التين هي بني إسرائيل ، والثلاث سنوات هي فترة تبشير المسيح عليه السلام . فإنه كنتيجة للمعجزات أعجب بنو إسرائيل بالمسيح عليه السلام ولكنهم لم يؤمنوا بالله . لذا فقد سمح الله بأن يضطهد الذين أعجبوا بذاته ليتحولوا إلى الإيمان بالله. ومما هو معروف أنه متى زاد السماد عن الحد اتجه النبات إلى تكوين الأوراق دون الثمار . فالمثل هنا أصدق علميا مما ورد في إنجيل لوقا 13 : 6 ـ 9 ( الكاتب).
