when God gave the precept(a) to work, he said not: “A poor man shall live of the sweat of his face”? 18 and Job did not say that: “As a bird is born to fly, so a poor man is born to work?” 19 But God said to man: “In the sweat of thy countenance shalt thou eat bread,” 20 and Job that “Man is born to work.” 21 Therefore [only] he who is not man is free from this precept. 22 Assuredly for no other reason are all things costly, but that there are a great multitude of idle folk: 23 if these were to labour, some attending the ground and some at fishing the water. There would be the greatest plenty in the world. 24 And of the lack thereof it will be necessary to render an account in the dreadful day of judgement.’
1 ‘Let man say somewhat to me. What hath he brought into the world, by reason of which he would live in idleness? (c) Certain it is that he was born naked, and incapable of anything. Hence, of all that he has found, he is not the owner, but the dispenser ( [1] ).

أ قال الله عندما أمر (ا) بالعمل :" يعيش الفقير من عرق وجهه ؟ " 18 أو قال أيوب : " كما أن الطير مولودة للطيران هكذا الفقير مولود للعمل ؟" 19 بل قال الله للإنسان : "بعرق وجهك تأكل خبزك " 20 وقال أيوب : " الإنسان مولود للعمل " 21 وعليه فإن من ليس بإنسان معفي من هذا الأمر 22 حقا إنه لا سبب لغلاء الأشياء سوى إنه يوجد جمهور غفير من الكسالى 23 فلو اشتغل هؤلاء وعمل بعضهم في الأرض وآخرون في صيد الأسماك في الماء لكان العالم في أعظم سعة 24 ويجب أن يؤدى الحساب على هذا النقص في يوم الدين الرهيب .
1 ليقل لي الإنسان بماذا أتى إلى العالم الذي بسببه يعيش بالكسل (ج) 2 فمن المؤكد إنه ولد عريانا وغير قادر على شيء وهو ليس صاحب كل ما وجد بل المتصرف به ( [2] )
