scribes and doctors. And they meditated upon his death( [1] ), 24 but for fear of the people, who had received him as a prophet of God, they spake no word.
25 Jesus raised his hands to the Lord God (a)and prayed, 26 and the people weeping said: ‘So be it, O Lord, so be it.’ 27 The prayer
being ended, Jesus descended from the temple; and that day he departed from Jerusalem, with many that followed him.
28 And the priests spoke evil of Jesus among themselves.
[13] (b) The remarkable fear of Jesus, and his prayer,
and the wonderful comfort of the angel Gabriel.
1 Some days having passed, Jesus having in spirit perceived the
desire of the priests, ascended the Mount of Olives to pray. 2 And
having passed the whole night in prayer ( [2] ), in the morning Jesus
praying said: 3 ‘O Lord I know that the scribes hate me, 4 and the
priests are minded to kill me, thy servant; 5 therefore, Lord God almighty and merciful (c),in mercy hear the prayers of thy servant 6 and save me from their snares, for thou art my salvation. 6 Thou knowest, Lord, that I thy servant seek thee alone, O Lord, and speak thy word; 8 for thy word is truth ( [3] ), which endureth for ever.’

والكتبة والعلماء فصمموا على قتله( [4] 24 ولكنهم لم ينبسوا بكلمة خوفا من الشعب الذي قبله نبيا من الله 25 ورفع يسوع يديه إلى الرب الإله (ا) وصلى 26 فبكى الشعب وقالوا "ليكن كذلك يا رب ليكن كذلك "
27 ولما انتهت الصلاة نزل يسوع من الهيكل وسافر ذلك اليوم من أورشليم مع كثيرين من الذين تبعوه 28 وتكلم الكهنة فيما بينهم بالسوء على يسوع.
الفصل الثالث عشر (ب)
خوف يسوع وصلاته وتعزية الملاك
جبريل العجيبة
1 ولما مضت بعض أيام وكان يسوع عالما بالروح رغبة الكهنة صعد إلى جبل الزيتون ليصلي 2 وبعد أن صرف الليل كله في الصلاة ( [5] ) صلى يسوع في الصباح قائلا :3 " يا رب إني عالم أن الكتبة يبغضونني 4 والكهنة مصممون على قتلي أنا عبدك 5 لذلك أيها الرب الإلة القدير الرحيم (ج) اسمع برحمة صلوات عبدك 6 وأنقذني من حبائلهم لأنك أنت خلاصي 7 وأنت تعلم يا رب أني أنا عبدك إياك أطلب يا رب وكلمتك أتكلم 8 لأن كلمتك حق ( [6] ) هي تدوم إلى الأبد.
