1 Jesus departed from the desert and entered into Jerusalem; 2 Whereupon all the people ran to the temple to see him. 3 So after the reading of the psalms Jesus mounted up on the pinnacle where the scribe used to mount, 4 and, having beckoned for silence with his hand, he said: ‘Blessed be the holy name of God (b), O brethren, who hath created us of the clay of the earth, and not of flaming spirit. 5 For when we sin we find mercy before God (c)( [1] ), which Satan will never find, 6 because through his pride he is incorrigible, saying that he is always noble, for that he is flaming spirit.
7 ‘Have ye heard, brethren, that which our father David saith of our God, that he remembereth that we are dust and that our spirit goeth and returneth not again, wherefore he hath had mercy upon us? 8 Blessed are they that know these words, for they will not sin against their Lord eternally, seeing that after the sin they repent, wherefore their sin abideth not. 9 Woe unto them

عبده هذا ولما قال ذلك انصرفوا للراحة.
1 وانصرف يسوع من البرية ودخل أورشليم 2 فأسرع من ثم الشعب كله إلى الهيكل ليراه 3 فبعد قراءة المزامير ارتقى يسوع الدكة التي كان يرتقيها الكتبة 4 وبعد أن أشار بيده إيماء للصمت قال : أيها الاخوة تبارك اسم الله القدوس (ب) الذي خلقنا من طين الأرض لا من روح ملتهب 5 لأنه متى أخطأنا وجدنا رحمة (ج)( [2] ) عند الله لن يجدها الشيطان أبدا 6 لأنه لا يمكن إصلاحه بسبب كبريائه إذ يقول أنه شريف دوما لأنه روح ملتهب 7 هل سمعتم أيها الأخوة ما يقول أبونا داود عن إلهنا إنه يذكر أننا تراب وأن روحنا تمضي فلا تعود أيضا فلذلك رحمنا ؟ 8 طوبى للذين يعرفون هذه الكلمات لأنهم لا يخطئون إلى ربهم إلى الأبد فإنهم بعد أن يخطئوا يتوبون فلذلك لا تدوم خطيئتهم 9 ويل
