finished his prayer he descended from the pinnacle. 13 Whereupon there were brought unto him many sick folk whom he made whole, and he departed from the temple. 14 Thereupon Simon, a leper, whom Jesus had cleansed ( [1] ), invited him to eat bread.’

15 The priests and scribes, who hated Jesus, reported to the Roman soldiers that which Jesus had said against their gods. 16 For indeed they were seeking how to kill him, but found it not, because they feared the people ( [2]  ).

17 Jesus, having entered the house of Simon, sat down to the table ( [3] ). 18 And while he was eating, behold a woman named Mary( [4] ), a public sinner, entered into the house, and flung herself upon the ground behind Jesus’ feet, and washed them with her tears, anointed them with precious ointment, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

19 Simon was scandalized, with all that sat at meat, 20 and they said in their hearts: ‘If this man were a prophet he would know who and of what sort is this woman, and would know who and of what sort is this woman, and

إلى الرب 11 وقال الشعب :" ليكن كذلك ليكن كذلك " 12 ولما أكمل صلاته نزل من الدكة 13 فأحضروا إليه جمهورا كثيرا من مرضى فبرأهم وانصرف من الهيكل 14 فدعا يسوع ليأكل خبزا سمعان الذي كان أبرص ( [5] ) فشفاه يسوع 15 أما الكهنة والكتبة الذين كانوا يبغضون يسوع فأخبروا الجنود الرومانية بما قاله يسوع في آلهتهم 16 لأن الحقيقة هي أنهم كانوا يلتمسون فرصة ليقتلوه فلم يجدوها لأنهم خافوا الشعب ( [6] ) 17 ولما دخل يسوع بيت سمعان ( [7] ) جلس إلى المائدة 18 وبينما كان يأكل إذا بامرأة اسمها مريم ( [8] ) وهي مومسة  دخلت البيت وطرحت نفسها على الأرض وراء قدمي يسوع وغسلتهما بدموعها ودهنتهما بالطيب ( بطيب غال ) ومسحتهما بشعر رأسها 19 فخجل سمعان وكل الذين كانوا على الطعام 20 وقالوا في قلوبهم :" لو كان هذا الرجل نبيا لعرف من هذه المرأة ومن أي طبقة هي
