would not suffer her to touch him.’
21 Then said Jesus: ‘Simon, I have a thing to say to thee.’
22 Simon answered: ‘Speak, O Master, for I desire thy word.’

1 Jesus said: ‘There was a man who had two debtors. The one owed to his creditor fifty pence, the other five hundred. 2 Whereupon, when neither of them had wherewithal to pay, the owner, moved with compassion, forgave he debt to each. 3 Which of them would love his creditor most?’
4 Simon answered: ‘He to whom was forgiven the greater debt.’
5 Said Jesus: ‘Thou hast well said; 6 I say unto thee, therefore, behold this woman and thyself; 7 for ye were both debtors to God, the one for leprosy of the body, the other for leprosy of the soul, which is sin.
8 God our Lord, moved with compassion through my prayers (b),hath willed to heal thy body and her soul.

ولما سمح لها بأن تمسه " 21 فقال حينئذ يسوع : يا سمعان إن عندي شيئا أقوله لك 22 أجاب سمعان : تكلم يا معلم لأني أحب كلمتك .
1 قال يسوع : كان لرجل مدينان أحدهما مدين لدائنه بخمسي فلسا والآخر بخمسمائة 2 فلما لم يكن عند أحد منهما ما يدفعه تحنن الدائن وعفا عن دين كلاهما 3 فأيهما يحب دائنه أكثر؟ 4 أجاب سمعان : صاحب الدين الأكبر الذي عفا عنه 5 فقال يسوع : لقد قلت صوابا 6 إني أقول لك إذا انظر هذه المرأة ونفسك 7 لأنكما كنتما كلاكما مديني لله أحدكما ببرص الجسم والآخر ببرص النفس الذي هو الخطيئة 8 فتحنن الله ربنا بسبب صلواتي (ب) وأراد شفاء جسدك ونفسها
