9 Thou, therefore, lovest me little, because thou hast received little as a gift. 10 And so, when I entered thy house thou didst not kiss me nor anoint my head. 11 But this woman, lo! Straightway on entering thy house she placed herself at my feet, which she hath washed with her tears and anointed with precious ointment. 12 Wherefore verily I say unto thee, many sins are forgiven her, because she hath loved much.’ 13 And turning to the woman he said: ‘Go thy way in peace, for the Lord our God hath pardoned thy sins(a)( [1] ); 14 but see thou sin no more ( [2] ). 15 Thy faith hath saved thee ( [3] ).’

1 His disciples drew unto Jesus after the nightly prayer, and said: ‘O Master, how must we do to escape pride?’
2 Jesus answered: ‘Have ye seen a poor man invited to a prince’s house to eat bread?’
3 John answered:

9 فأنت إذا تحبني قليلا لأنك نلت هبة صغيرة 10 وهكذا لم تقبلني ولم تدهن رأسي 11 أما هذه المرأة فلما دخلت بيتك جاءت توا ووضعت نفسها عند قدمي اللتين غسلتهما بدموعها ودهنتهما بالطيب 12 لذلك أقول الحق أنه قد غفرت لها خطايا كثيرة لأنها أحبت كثيرا 13 ثم التفت إلى المرأة وقال : اذهبي في طريقك لأن الرب إلهنا قد غفر خطاياك (ا)( [4] )14 ولكن انظري أن لا تخطئي فيما بعد ( [5] ) 15 إيمانك خلصك ( [6] ).
1 وبعد صلاة الليل اقترب التلاميذ من يسوع وقالوا : يا معلم ماذا يجب أن نفعل لكي نتخلص من الكبرياء 2 فأجاب يسوع : هل رأيتم فقيرا مدعو إلى بيت عظيم ليأكل خبزا ؟ 3 أجاب يوحنا:
