‘The hour of prayer draweth nigh; wherefore when the evening prayers is ended I will tell you the meaning of the parables.’
3 When the prayer was ended, the disciples came near to Jesus and he said to them ( [1] ): ‘The man who soweth seed upon the road, upon the stones, upon the thorns, upon the good ground, is he who teacheth the word of God, which falleth upon a great number of men.
4 It falleth upon the road when it cometh to the ears of sailors and merchants, who by reason of the long journeys which they make, and the variety of nations with whom they have dealings ( [2] ), have the word of God removed from their memory by Satan. 5 It falleth upon the stones when it cometh to the ears of courtires, for by reason of the great anxiety these have to serve the body of a prince the word of God doth not sink into them ( [3] ). 6 Wherefore, albeit they have some memory thereof, as soon as they have any tribulation the word of God goeth out of their memory: 7 for, seeing they serve not God, they cannot hope for help (a) from God (b).’
8 It falleth among the thorns

اقتربت ساعة الصلاة فمتى انتهت صلاة المساء أفيدكم معنى الأمثال 3 فلما انتهت الصلاة اقترب التلاميذ من يسوع فقال لهم ( [4] ) : إن الرجل الذي يزرع البذور على الطريق أو على الحجارة أو على الشوك أو على الأرض الجيدة هو من يعلم كلمة الله التي تسقط على عدد غفير من الناس 4 تقع على الطريق متى جاءت إلى آذان البحارة والتجار الذين أزال الشيطان كلمة الله من ذاكرتهم بسبب الأسفار الشاسعة التي يزمعونها وتعدد الأمم التي يتجرون معها ( [5] ) 5 وتقع على الحجارة متى جاءت إلى آذان رجال البلاط لأنه بسبب شغفهم بخدمة شخص حاكم لا تنفذ إليهم كلمة الله ( [6] ) 6 على إنهم وإن كان لهم شئ من تذكرها فحالما تصيبهم شدة تخرج كلمة الله من ذاكرتهم 7 لأنهم وهم لم يخدموا الله لا يقدرون أن يرجوا معونة (ا)من الله (ب) 8 وتقع على الشوك

ب من لا يعملو ( يعملوا ) لله تعلى لا يمكن أن يطلب ( يطلبوا ) عونا من لله ( الله ) تعلى منه.
