he fled from them. 19 Wherefore the disciples strove fifteen days to find him.
1 Jesus was found by him who writeth, and by James with John. 2 And they, weeping, said: ‘O Master, wherefore didst thou flee from us? 3 We have sought thee mourning; yea, all the disciples seek thee weeping. 4 Jesus answered: ‘I fled because I knew that a host of devils is preparing for me that which in a short time ye shall see. 5 For, there shall rise against me the chief priests with the elders of the people, and shall wrest authority to kill me from the Roman governor, 6 because they shall fear that I wish to usurp kingship over Israel. 7 Moreover; I shall be sold and betrayed by one of my disciples, as Joseph was sold into Egypt ( [1] ). 8 But the just God shall make him fall (a), as saith the prophet David: “He shall make him fall into the pit who spreadeth a snare for his neighbour ( [2] ).”
9 For God shall save me (b)( [3] ) from their hands, and
هرب منهم 19 ولذلك اجتهد التلاميذ خمسة عشر يوما ليجدوه .
1 أما يسوع فوجدوه الذي يكتب ويعقوب ويوحنا 2 فقالوا وهم باكون يا معلم لماذا هربت منا ؟ 3 فلقد طلبناك ونحن حزانى بل إن التلاميذ كلهم طلبوك باكين 4 فأجاب يسوع : إنما هربت لأني علمت أن جيشا من الشياطين يهيئ لي ما سترونه بعد برهة وجيزة 5 فسيقوم على رؤساء الكهنة وشيوخ الشعب وسيطلبون أمرا من الحاكم الروماني بقتلى 6 لأنهم يخافون أن (أني أريد أن ) أغتصب ملك إسرائيل 7 وعلاوة على هذا فإن واحدا من تلاميذي يبيعني ويسلمني كما بيع يوسف إلى مصر ( [4] ) 8 ولكن الله العادل سيوثِقه ( سيوقِعه ) كما يقول النبي داود: " من نصب فخا لأخيه وقع فيه ( [5] ) " 9 ولكن الله سيخلصني ( [6] ) من أيديهم
