Nazareth. 7 When the citizens recognized Jesus, everyone desired to see him. 8 Whereupon a publican, by name ( [1] )Zacchaeus, who was of small stature, not being able to see Jesus by reason of the great multitude, climbed to the top of a sycamore, 9 and there waited for Jesus to pass that place when he went to the synagogue. 10 Jesus then, having come to that place, lifted up his eyes and said: ‘Come down. Zacchaeus, for to-day I will abide in thy house.’
11 The man came down and received him with gladness, making a splendid feast.
12 The Pharisees murmured, saying to Jesus’ disciples: ‘Wherefore is your master gone in to eat with publicans and sinners?’
13 Jesus answered: ‘For what cause doth the physician ( [2] ) [enter] into an house? 14 Tell me, and I will tell you ( [3] ) wherefore I am come in hither.’
15 They answered: ‘To heal the sick.’
16 ‘Ye say the truth’, said Jesus, ‘for the whole have no need of medicine, only the sick.’
في صباح يوم السبت 7 فلما تبين الأهالي أنه يسوع أحب كل أحد أن يراه 8 حتى أن عشارا اسمه ( [4] ) زكا كان قصير القامة بحيث لا يقدر أن يرى يسوع مع كثرة الجمع فتسلق جميزة حتى رأسها 9 وتربص هناك حتى يمر يسوع في ذلك المكان وهو ذاهب إلى المجمع 10 فلما بلغ يسوع ذلك الموضع رفع عينيه وقال : انزل يا زكا لأني سأقيم في بيتك 11 فنزل الرجل وقبِله بفرح وصنع وليمة عظيمة 12 فتذمر الفريسيون قائلين لتلاميذ يسوع : لماذا ذهب معلمكم ليأكل مع عشارين وخطاة ؟ 13 أجاب يسوع : لأي سبب يذهب ( [5] ) الطبيب إلى بيت المريض ؟ 14 قولوا لي أقل لكم ( [6] ) لماذا ذهبت إلى هناك 15 أجابوا : ليشفي المرضى 16 أجاب يسوع : فقد قلتم الحق فإنه لا حاجة بالأصحاء إلى طبيب بل المرضى فقط .
