served thee with good service, and yet thou never gavest me a lamb to eat with my friends. 7 But as for this worthless fellow that departed from thee, wasting all his portion with harlots, now that he is come thou hast killed the fatted calf.”
8 The father answered: “Son, thou art ever with me and everything is thine; but this one was dead and is alive again, was lost and now is found, therefore we needs must rejoice.”
9 ‘The elder son was the more angry, and said: “Go thou and triumph, for I will not eat at the table of fornicators ( [1] ).” 10 And he departed form his father without receiving even a piece of money.
11 ‘As God liveth (a),’ said Jesus, ‘ ( [2] ) even so is there rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.’
12 And when they had eaten he departed, for that he was fain to go to Judaea. 13 Whereupon the disciples said: ‘Master, go not unto Judaea, for we know that the Pharisees have taken counsel with the high priest against thee.’
14 Jesus answered: ‘I know it before they did it, 15 but I do not fear, for they cannot do anything contrary to the will of God.

خدمتك خير خدمة فلم تعطني قط حملا لأفرح مع أصدقائي 7 ولكن لما جاء هذا الخسيس الذي انصرف عنك مبذرا نصيبه كله على الزانيات ذبحت له العجل المسمن " 8 أجاب الأب :" يا بني أنت معي في كل حين وكل مالي فهو لك ولكن هذا كان ميتا فعاش وكان ضالا فوجد " 9 فازداد الكبير غضبا وقال :" اذهب وفز فإني لا آكل على مائدة زناة ( [3] ) " 10 وانصرف عن أبيه دون أن يأخذ قطعة واحدة من النقود 11 ثم قال يسوع :" لعمر الله (ا) هكذا ( [4] ) يكون فرح بين ملائكة الله بخاطئ واحد يتوب 12 ولما أكلوا انصرف لأنه يريد أن يذهب إلى اليهودية 13 فقال من ثم التلاميذ :" يا معلم لا تذهب إلى اليهودية لأننا نعلم أن الفريسيين قد ائتمروا مع رئيس الكهنة بك 14 أجاب يسوع :" ان ( إني ) علمت بذلك قبل أن فعلوه 15 ولكن لا أخاف لأنهم لا يقدرون أن يفعلوا شيئا مضادا لمشيئة الله 16 فليفعلوا
