he is, 6 and perchance he is but vanity.’
7 Jesus answered: ‘If I had created you, as our God hath created you (a), I would seek to convert you ( [1] ).’
8 They answered: ‘Now how hath thy God created us, seeing it is not known where he is? 9 Show us thy God, and we will become Jews.’
10 Then said Jesus: ‘If ye had eyes to see him I would show him to you, but since ye are blind, I cannot show you him.’
11 The soldiers answered: ‘Of a surety, the honour which this people payeth thee must have taken away thine understanding. For every one of us hath two eyes in his head, and thou sayest we are blind.’
12 Jesus answered: ‘The carnal eyes can only see things gross and external: 13 ye therefore will only be able to see your gods of wood and silver and gold that cannot do anything. 14 But we of Judah have spiritual eyes, which are the fear and the faith of our God, 15 wherefore we can see our God in every place (b).
16 The soldiers answered: ‘Beware how

مقره 6 وقد لا يكون سوى باطل 7 أجاب يسوع : لو كنت خلقتكم كما خلقكم (ا) إلهنا لحاولت تغييركم ( [2]) 8 أجابوا : " إذا كان لا يعلم أين إلهك فكيف خلقنا ؟ 9 أرنا إلهك نكن يهودا 10 فقال حينئذ يسوع : لو كان لكم عيون لأريتكم إياه ولكن لما كنتم عميانا فلست بقادر على أن أريكم إياه 11 أجاب الجنود : حقا لا بد أن الإكرام الذي يقدمه لك الشعب قد سلبك عقلك لأن لكل منا عينين في رأسه وأنت تقول أننا عميان 12 أجاب يسوع :" إن العيون الجسدية لا تبصر إلا الكثيف والخارجي 13 فلا تقدرون من ثم إلا على رؤية آلهتكم الخشبية والفضية والذهبية التي لا تقدر أن تفعل شيئا 14 أما نحن أهل يهوذا فلنا عيون روحية هي خوف إلهنا ؟ ودينه 15 ولذلك لا يمكن (يمكن ) لنا رؤية إلهنا في كل مكان (ب) 16 أجاب الجنود إحذر
