that God our creator (a) in his working conformeth not himself to us, wherefore it is not lawful for the creature to seek his own way and convenience ( [1] ), but rather the honour of God his creator(a), in order that the creature may depend on the creator and not the creator on the creature. 19 As God liveth (b) in whose presence my soul standeth, if God had granted everything to man, man would not have known himself to be God’s servant; and so he would have accounted himself lord of paradise. 20 Wherefore the creator, who is blessed for evermore, forbade him the food, in order that man might remain subject to him.

21 And verily I say unto you, that whose hath the light of his eyes clear seeth everything clear, and draweth light even out of darkness itself ( [2] ); 22 but the blind doeth not so. 23 Wherefore I say that, if man had not sinned, neither I, nor thou would have known the mercy of God and his righteousness. 24 And if God had made man incapable of sin he would have been equal to God in that matter; 25 wherefore the blessed God created man good and righteous (c), but free to do that which he pleaseth in

إن الله خالقنا (ا) لا يوفق في عمله نفسه لنا 18 لذلك لا يجوز للمخلوق أن يطلب طريقه وراحته ( [3] ) بل بالحرى مجد الله (ا)  خالقه ليعتمد المخلوق على الخالق لا الخالق على المخلوق 19 لعمر (ب) الله الذي تقف نفسي في حضرته لو وهب الله كل شئ لما عرف الإنسان نفسه أنه عبد الله ولكان حسب نفسه سيد الفردوس 20 لذلك نهاه الله المبارك إلى الأبد 21 الحق أقول لكم إن كل من كان نور عينيه جليا يرى كل شئ جليا يستخرج من الظلمة نفسها نورا ( [4] ) 22 ولكن الأعمى لا يفعل هكذا 23 لذلك أقول لو لم يخطأ الإنسان لما علمت أنا ولا أنت رحمة الله وبره ولو خلق الله الإنسان غير قادر على الخطيئة لكان ندا لله في ذلك الأمر 25 لذلك خلق الله المبارك الإنسان صالحا (ج) وبارا ولكنه حر أن يفعل ما يريد من

[1]  Al-Ma’idah 5: 70, Isaiah 45:9, he means that Exalted God forbade Adam and Eve from eating from the tree in order that they know that they are slaves of God, forbidding them was for their benefit because as a result of eating from it they became with sex and mortals.

[2]  This expresses the ancient understanding of vision before sons of Ishmael discovered that light comes from the things so it is seen, after spreading of Islam, this is an evidence that it was written before sending of the Prophet Mohammed (SAAS).

[3]  المائدة : 70 ، إشعياء 45 : 9 والمقصود أن الله العلي نهى آدم وحواء عن أكل الشجرة حتى يعلما أنهما عبدي الله ، كما وأن حرمانهما منها كان لمصلحتهما فقد صارا كنتيجة لأكلها ذوي جنس وميتان .

[4]  يعبر هذا عن المفهوم القديم للنظر قبل أن يكتشف بنو إسماعيل أن الضوء إنما يأتي من الأشياء فترى ، بعد ظهور الإسلام ، وهذا دليل على أنه كتب قبل بعثة النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم .
