that shall listen to his words, 5 because God shall overshadow them with his mercy even as this palm-tree overshadoweth us. 6 Yea, even as this tree protecteth us from the burning heat of the sun, even so the mercy of God will protect from Satan them that believe in that man ( [1] ).’
7 The disciples answered: ‘O master, who shall that man be of whom thou speakest, who shall come into the world?’
8 Jesus answered with joy of heart: ‘He is Mohammed messenger of God (a), 9 and when he cometh into the world, even as the rain maketh the earth to bear fruit when for a long time it hath not rained, 10 even so shall he be occasion of good works among men, through the abundant mercy which he shall bring. 11 For he is a white cloud full of the mercy of God, which mercy God shall sprinkle upon the faithful like rain ( [2] ).’

5 لأن الله سيظللهم كما تظللنا هذه النخلة 6 بلى إنه كما تقينا هذه الشجرة حرارة الشمس المتلظية هكذا تقي رحمة الله المؤمنين بهذا الاسم من الشيطان ( [3] )" 7 أجاب التلاميذ :" يا معلم من عسى أن يكون ذلك الرجل الذي تتكلم عنه الذي سيأتي إلى العالم؟ 8 أجاب يسوع بابتهاج قلب :" إنه محمد رسول (ا) الله 9 ومتى جاء إلى العالم فسيكون ذريعة للأعمال الصالحة بين البشر بالرحمة الغزيرة التي يأتي بها 10 كما يجعل المطر الأرض تعطي ثمرا بعد انقطاع المطر زمنا طويلا 11 فهو غمامة بيضاء مليئة برحمة الله وهي رحمة ينثرها الله رذاذا على المؤمنين كالغيث ( [4] ) .

1 إني أشرح لكم الآن ذلك النزر القليل الذي وهبني الله معرفته بشأن سبق هذا الاصطفاء نفسه 2 يزعم الفريسيون أن كل شئ قدر على طريقة
