2 Jesus answered: ‘Verily ye in the day of judgement shall sit beside me, giving testimony against the twelve tribes of Israel.

3 And having said this Jesus sighed, saying: ‘O lord, what thing is this? For I have chosen twelve, and one of them is a devil([1] ).

4 The disciples were sore grieved at this word; 5 whereupon he Who writeth secretly questioned Jesus with tears, saying: ‘O master will Satan deceive me, and shall I then become reprobate?

6 Jesus answered: ‘Be not sore grieved, Barnabas; for those whom God hath chosen before the creation of the world shall not perish. Rejoice, for thy name is written in the book of life ( [2] ).

7 Jesus comforted his disciples, saying : fear not for he who shall hate me is not grieved at my saying, because in him is not the divine feeling.

8 At his words the chosen were comforted. 9 Jesus made his prayers, 10 and his disciples said: Amen, so be it, Lord God almighty and merciful(a).

11 Having finished his devotions, Jesus came down from the mountain with his disciples, 12 and met ten lepers ( [3] ),

لقد تركنا كل شئ لنتبعك فما مصيرنا ؟2 أجاب يسوع : إنكم لتجلسون يوم الدينونة بجانبي لتشهدوا على أسباط إسرائيل الإثنا عشر 3 ولما قال يسوع ذلك تنهد قائلا : يا رب ما هذا ؟ إني اخترت إثنا عشر فكان واحد منهم شيطانا ([4] ) 4 فحزن التلاميذ جدل لهذه الكلمة 5 فعند ذلك سأل الذي يكتب يسوع سرا بدموع قائلا : يا سيد أ يخدعني الشيطان وهل أكون منبوذا ؟ 6 فأجاب يسوع : لا تأسف يا برنابا لأن الذين اختارهم الله قبل خلق العالم لا يهلكون تهلل لأن اسمك مكتوب في سفر الحياة ( [5] ) 7 وعزى يسوع تلاميذه قائلا : لا تخافوا لأن الذي سيبغضني لا يحزن لكلامي لأنه ليس فيه الشعور الإلهي 8 فتعزى المختارون بكلامه 9 وأدى يسوخ صلواته 10 وقال التلاميذ : آمين ليكن هذا أيها الرب الإله القدير الرحيم (ا) 11 ولما انتهى يسوع من العبادة نزل من الجبل مع تلاميذه 12 والتقى بعشرة ( [6] ) برص
