than offend God thy creator (a), 8 and preserve it not with sin. 9 For sin destroyeth and preserveth not ( [1] ), 10 and God (b) is mighty to create as many worlds as there are sands in the sea, and more ( [2] ).’

3 Whereupon said the scribe: ‘I have seen an old book written by the hand of Moses and Joshua (he who made the sun stand still as thou hast done), servants and prophets of God, 4 which book is the true book of Moses. 5 Therein is written that Ishmael is the father of the Messiah (d), and Isaac the father of messenger of the Messiah (e). 6 And thus saith the book, that Moses said: “Lord God of Israel mighty and merciful, manifest to thy servant the splendour of thy glory, ( [3] ) Whereupon God showed him his messenger in the arms of Ishmael, and Ishmael in the arms of Abraham. 8 Nigh to Ishmael stood Isaac, in

من أن تغضب الله خالقك ( ا) 8 ولا تحفظه في الخطيئة 9 لأن الخطيئة تهلك ولا تحفظ ( [4] )10 أما الله فقدير (ب) على خلق عوالم عدد رمال البحر بل أكثر ( [5] ) .

الفصل الحادي والتسعون بعد المئة

1 حينئذ قال الكاتب : عفوا يا معلم لأني قد أخطأت 2 قال يسوع : الله يغفر لك (ج) لأنك إليه قد أخطأت 3 فقال من ثم الكاتب : لقد رأيت كتيبا قديما مكتوبا بيد موسى ويشوع ( الذي أوقف الشمس كما قد فعلت ) خادمي ونبيي الله 4 وهو كتاب موسى الحقيقي 5 ففيه مكتوب أن إسماعيل هو أب لمسيا (د) وإسحاق أب لرسول مسيا (هـ) 6 وهكذا يقول الكتاب أن موسى قال : " أيها الرب إله إسرائيل القدير الرحيم اظهر لعبدك في سناء مجدك ( [6] ) 7 فأراه الله من ثم رسوله على ذراعي إسماعيل وإسماعيل على ذراعي إبراهيم 8 ووقف على مقربة من إسماعيل إسحاق
