7 Whereupon as they sat at meat, lo! Mary who wept at the feet of Jesus, entered into the house of Nicodemus (for that was the name of the scribe), 8 and weeping placed herself at the feet of Jesus, saying: ‘Lord, thy servant, who through thee hath found mercy with God, hath a sister and a brother who now lieth sick in peril of death.’
9 Jesus answered: ‘where is thy house? 10 Tell me, for I will come to pray God for his health.’
11 Mary answered: ‘Bethany is [the home] of my brother and my sister for my own house is Magdala: my brother, therefore, is in Bethany.’
12 Said Jesus to the woman: Go thou straightway to thy brother’s house, and there await me for I will come to heal him. 13 And fear thou not, for he shall not die.’
14 The woman departed, and having gone to Bethany found that her brother had died that day, 15 wherefore they laid him in the sepulchre of their fathers.

7 وبينما كانوا على الطعام إذا بمريم التي بكت عند قدمي يسوع قد دخلت إلى بيت نيقوديموس ( وهذا هو اسم الكاتب ) 8 ووضعت نفسها باكية عند قدمي يسوع قائلة : يا سيد إن لخادمك الذي بسببك وجد ( لخادمتك التي وجدت بسببك ) رحمة من الله أختا وأخا منطرحا مريضا في خطر الموت 9 أجاب يسوع : أين بيتك ؟ 10 قولي لي لأني أجيء لأضرع إلى الله لأجل صحته 11 أجابت مريم : بيت عنيا هو بيت أختي وأخي لأن سكني أنا في المجدل فأخي في بيت عنيا 12 قال يسوع للمرأة اذهبي توا إلى بيت أخيك وانتظريني هناك لأني أجيء لأشفيه 13 ولا تخافي فإنه لا يموت 14 فانصرفت المرأة ولما ذهبت إلى بيت عنيا وجدت أخاها قد مات في ذلك اليوم 15 فوضعوه في ضريح آبائهم.
1 ولبث يسوع يومين ( [2] ) في بيت نيقوديموس 2 ومضى في اليوم الثالث إلى بيت عنيا 3 ولما قرب
