all that he hath given into my keeping, for the service of the poor.14 Wherefore, since thou art poor, and hast a great number of disciples, come thou to dwell here when thou pleasest, and as much as thou pleasest, 15 for the servant of god will minister to thee as much as shall be needful, for love of God.’
1 Jesus rejoiced when he heard this and said: ‘See how good a thing it is to die! 2 Lazarus hath died once only, and hath learned such doctrine as is not known to the wisest men in the world that have grown old among books! 3 Would to God that every man might die once only and return to the world, like Lazarus, in order that men might learn to live.’
4 John answered: ‘O master, is it permitted to me to speak a word?’
5 ‘Speak a thousand,’ answered Jesus, ‘for just as a man is bound to dispense his goods in the service of God, so also is he bound to dispense doctrine: 6 and so much the more is he bound [so to do] inasmuch as the word hath power
كل ما أعطى لعهدتي لأجل خدمة الفقراء 14 فإذا كنت فقيرا وكان لك عدد كثير من التلاميذ تعال واسكن هنا متى شئت وما شئت 15 فإن خادم الله يخدمك كما يجب حبا في الله .
1 لما سمع يسوع هذا سُرَّ وقال : انظروا الآن ما أطيب الموت 2 إن لعازر مات مرة فقط وقد تعلَّم تعليما لا يعرفه أحكم البشر في العالم الذين شاخوا بين الكتب 4 أجاب يوحنا : يا معلم أيؤذن لي أن أتكلم كلمة ؟ 5 أجاب يسوع : قل ألفا لأنه كما يجب على الإنسان أن يصرف أمواله في خدمة الله هكذا يجب عليه أن يصرف التعليم 6 بل يكون هذا أشد وجوبا عليه لأن للكلمة قوة
