the city, the men spread out their garments under the feet of the ass, singing: “blessed be he that cometh to us in the name of the Lord God(a); hosanna, son of David!’

12 The Pharisees rebuked Jesus, saying: ‘Seest thou not what these say? Cause them to hold their peace!’

13 Then said Jesus: ‘As God liveth (b) in whose presence my soul standeth, if men should hold their peace, the stones would cry out against the unbelief of malignant sinners.’ 14 And when Jesus had said this all the stones of Jerusalem cried out with a great noise: ‘Blessed be he who cometh to us in the name of the Lord God (a)( [1] )!’

15 Nevertheless the Pharisees remained still in their unbelief, 16 and, having assembled themselves together, took counsel to catch him in his talk ( [2] ).

المدينة فرش الناس ثيابهم تحت أرجل الأتان مرنِّمين : " تبارك الآتي الينا باسم الرب الإله (ا) مرحبا بابن داود ؟ 12 فوبَّخ الفريسيون يسوع قائلين :" ألا ترى ما يقول هؤلاء ؟ مُرْهم أن يسكتوا" 13 حينئذ قال يسوع : لعمر الله (ب) الذي تقف نفسي في حضرته لو سكت هؤلاء لصرخت الحجارة بكُفْر الأشرار الأردياء 14 ولما قال يسوع هذا صرخت حجارة أورشليم كلها بصوت عظيم : تبارك الآتي إلينا باسم الرب الإله (ا)( [4] ) 15 ومع ذلك أصر الفريسيون على عدم إيمانهم 16 وبعد أن التأموا ائتمروا ليتسقطوه بكلامه ( [5] ).

1 وبعد أن دخل يسوع الهيكل أحضر إليه الكتبة والفريسيون امرأة أخذت في زنى ( [6] ) 2 وقالوا فيما بينهم : إذا خلصها فذلك مضاد لشريعة موسى فيكون عندنا مذنبا وإذا دَانَها فذلك مضاد لتعليمه لأنه يبشر
