mercy.’ 3 Wherefore they came to Jesus and said; Master, we have found this woman in adultery. 4 Moses commanded that [such] should be stoned: 5 what then sayest thou?’
6 Thereupon Jesus stooped down and with his finger made a mirror on the ground wherein every one saw his own iniquities. 7 As they still pressed for the answer, Jesus lifted up himself and, pointing to the mirror with his finger, said: ‘He that is without sin among you, let him be first to stone her.’ 8 And again he stooped down, shaping the mirror.
9 The men, seeing this, went out one by one, beginning from the eldest, for they were ashamed to see their abominations.
10 Jesus having lifted up himself, and seeing no one but the woman, said: ‘Woman where are they that condemned thee?’
11 The woman answered, weeping: ‘Lord they are departed; and if thou wilt pardon me as God liveth (a), I will sin no more.’
12 Then said Jesus: ‘Blessed be God! 13 Go thy way in peace and sin no more, for God hath not sent me to condemn thee.’
13 Then, the scribes and Pharisees being assembled, Jesus said to them ( [1] ) : ‘Tell me: if one of you had an hundred sheep, and should lose one of them, would ye no

الرحمة 3 فتقدموا إلى يسوع وقالوا : يا معلم لقد وجدنا هذه المرأة وهي تزني 4 وقد أمر موسى أن (مثل هذه ) ترجم 5 فماذا تقول أنت ؟6 فانحنى من ثم يسوع وصنع بإصبعه مرآة على الأرض رأى فيها كل إثمه 7 ولما ظلوا يلحون بالجواب انتصب يسوع وقال مشيرا بإصبعه إلى المرآة : من كان منكم بلا خطيئة فليكن أول راجم لها 8 ثم عاد فانحنى مقلبا المرآة 9 فلما رأى القوم هذا خرجوا واحدا فواحدا مبتدئين من الشيوخ لأنهم خجلوا أن يروا رجسهم 10 فلما انتصب يسوع ولم ير أحدا سوى المرأة قال : أيتها المرأة أين الذين دانوك ؟ 11 فأجابت المرأة باكية : يا سيد قد انصرفوا فإذا صفحت عني فإني لعمر الله (ا) لا أخطأ فيما بعد 12 حينئذ قال يسوع : تبارك الله 13 اذهبي في طريقك بسلام ولا تخطئي فيما بعد لأن الله لم يرسلني لأدينك 14 حينئذ اجتمع الكتبة والفريسيون فقال لهم يسوع ( [2] ) : قولوا لي لو كان لأحدكم مائة خروف وأضاع واحدا منها
