be sick in body. 3 And in order that ye may know the truth, I say unto you, O sick folk, in the name of God (a), let your sickness depart from you!’

5 The men wept when they heard of the wrath of God (b)( [1] ) upon Jerusalem, and prayed for mercy; 6 when Jesus said: ‘ “If Jerusalem shall weep for her sins and do penance, walking in my ways,” saith God “I will not remember (c) her iniquities any more, and I will not do unto her any of the evil which I have said ( [2] ). 7 But Jerusalem weepeth for her ruin and not for her dishonouring of me, wherewith she hath blasphemed my name among the nations. 8 Therefore is my fury kindled much more. 9 As I live eternally (d)( [3] ), if Job, Abraham, Samuel, David, and Daniel my servants, with Moses, should pray for this people, my wrath upon Jerusalem will not be appeased.”’ And having said this, Jesus retired into the house, while every one remained in fear.

من مرضى الجسد 3 ولكي تعرفوا الحق أقول لكم : أيها المرضى لينصرف باسم الله (ا) مرضكم عنكم 4 ولما قال هذا شفوا حالا 5 فبكى القوم لما سمعوا عن غضب (ب)( [4] ) الله على أورشليم وضرعوا لأجل الرحمة 6 فقال حينئذ يسوع : يقول الله " إذا بكت أورشليم على خطاياها وجاهدت نفسها سائرة في طريقي فلا أذكر (ج) آثامها فيما بعد ولا ألحق بها شيئا من البلية التي ذكرتها ( [5] ) 7 ولكن أورشليم تبكي على دمارها لا على إهانتها لي التي بها جدَّفت على اسمي بين الأمم 8 لذلك زاد حنقي احتداما 9 لعمري (د) أنا الأبدي لو صلى لأجل هذا الشعب ( [6] ) أيوب وإبراهيم وصموئيل وداود ودانيال وموسى عبيدي لا يسكن غضبي على أورشليم " 10 وبعد أن قال يسوع هذا دخل البيت وظل كل أحد خائفا.

الفصل الخامس بعد المئتين

1 وبينما كان يسوع على العشاء مع تلاميذه في بيت سمعان الأبرص إذا بمريم أخت لعازر
