23 The disciples were sad at these words, 24 when Jesus said again: ‘Verily I say unto you ( [1] ) that one of you shall betray me, insomuch that I shall be sold like a sheep; 25 but woe unto him ( [2] ), for he shall fulfil all that our father David said of such an one that ( [3] ) “he shall fall into the pit which he had prepared for others.”’
26 Whereupon the disciples looked one upon another, saying with sorrow: ‘Who shall be the traitor?’
27 Judas then said: ‘Shall it be I, O Master?’
28 Jesus answered: ‘Thou hast told me who it shall be that shall betray me.’ 29 And the eleven apostles heard it not.
30 When the lamb was eaten, the devil came upon the back of Judas, and he went forth from the house, Jesus saying to him again: ‘Do quickly that which thou must do.’

1 Having gone forth from the house, Jesus retired into the garden to pray, according as his custom ( [4] ) was to pray, bowing his knees an hundred times (a) and prostrating himself upon his face.2 Judas, accordingly, knowing the place ( [5] ) where Jesus was with his disciples, went to the

23 فحزن التلاميذ لهذه الكلمات 24 فقال يسوع أيضا : الحق أقول لكم ( [6] ) أن واحدا منكم سيسلمني فأباع كخروف 25 ولكن ويل له ( [7] ) لأنه سيتم كل ما قال داود أبونا ([8] ) عنه أنه " سيسقط في الهوة التي أعدها للآخرين " 26 فنظر من ثم التلاميذ بعضهم إلى بعض قائلين بحزن : "من سيكون الخائن ؟" 27 فقال حينئذ يهوذا : أ أنا هو يا معلم ؟ أجاب يسوع : لقد قلت لي من هو الذي سيسلمني 29 أما الأحد عشر رسولا فلم يسمعوه 30 فلما أكل الحمل ركب الشيطان ظهر يهوذا فخرج من البيت ويسوع يقول أيضا : أسرع بفعل ما أنت فاعل.
1 وخرج يسوع من البيت ومال إلى البستان ليصلي فجثا على ركبتيه مئة مرة معفّرا (ا) وجهه كعادته في الصلاة ( [9] ) 2 ولما كان يهوذا يعرف الموضع ( [10] ) الذي كان فيه يسوع مع تلاميذه ذهب
