1 Judas entered impetuously before all into the chamber whence Jesus had been taken up. 2 And the disciples were sleeping. 3 Whereupon the wonderful God acted wonderfully, 4 insomuch that Judas was so changed in speech and in face to be like Jesus that we believed him to be Jesus ( [1] ) . 5 And he having awakened us, was seeking where the Master was. 6 Whereupon we marvelled, and answered: ‘Thou Lord, art our master; 7 hast thou now forgotten us?’
8 And he smiling, said: ‘Now are ye foolish, that know not me to be Judas Iscariot!’
9 And as he was saying this, the soldiery entered, and laid their hands upon Judas, because he was in every way like to Jesus.
10 We having beard Judas’ saying, and seeing the multitude of soldiers, fled as beside ourselves.
11 And John, who was wrapped in a linen cloth, awoke and fled, 12 and when a soldier seized him by the linen cloth he left the linen cloth and fled naked ( [2] ). 13 For God heard the prayer of Jesus, and saved the eleven from evil ( [3] ).

الفصل السادس عشر بعد المئتين
1 ودخل يهوذا بعنف إلى الغرفة التي أصعد منها يسوع 2 وكان التلاميذ كلهم نياما 3 فأتى الله العجيب بأمر عجيب 4 فتغيّر يهوذا في النطق وفي الوجه فصار شبها بيسوع حتى أننا اعتقدنا أنه يسوع ( [4] ) 5 أما هو فبعد أن أيقظنا أخذ يفتش لينظر أين كان المعلم 6 لذلك تعجبنا وأجبنا : أنت يا سيد هو معلمنا 7 أنسيتنا الآن ؟ 8 أما هو فقال متبسما : هل أنتم أغبياء حتى لا تعرفون يهوذا الإسخريوطي 9 وبينما كان يقول هذا دخلت الجنود وألقوا أيديهم على يهوذا لأنه كان شبيها بيسوع من كل وجه 10 أما نحن فلما سمعنا قول يهوذا ورأينا جمهور الجنود هربنا كالمجانين ويوحنا الذي كان ملتفا بملحفة من الكتان استيقظ وهرب 12 ولما أمسكه جندي بملحفة الكتان ترك ملحفة الكتان وهرب عريانا ( [5] ) 13 لأن الله سمع دعاء يسوع وخلّص الأحد عشر من الشر ( [6] ) .
