dead at all; 2 for God hath reserved me (a) till near the end of the world. 3 And having said this he prayed the four angels that they would manifest themselves, and give testimony how the matter had passed.
4 Thereupon the angels manifested themselves like four shining suns, insomuch that through fear every one again fell down as dead.
5 Then Jesus gave four linen cloths to the angels that they might cover themselves, in order that they might be seen and heard to speak by his mother and her companions. 6 And having lifted up each one, he comforted them, saying: ‘These are the ministers of God: Gabriel, who announceth God’s secrets; 8 Michael, who fighteth against God’s enemies; 9 Rafael, who receiveth the souls of them that die; 10 and Uriel who will call every one to the judgement of God (b) at the last day ( [1] ).’
11 Then the four angels narrated to the Virgin how God had sent for Jesus, and had transformed Judas, that he might suffer the punishment to which he had sold another ( [2] ).
12 Then said he who writeth: ‘O master, is it

أمت قط 2 لأن الله قد حفظني (ا) إلي قرب انقضاء العالم 3 ولما قال هذا رغب إلي الملائكة الأربعة أن يظهروا
ويشهدوا كيف كان الأمر 4 فظهر من ثم الملائكة كأربع شموس حتى أن كل أحد خرَّ من الهلع ثانية كأنه ميت 5 فأعطى حينئذ يسوع الملائكة أربع ملاءات من كتان ليستروا بها أنفسهم لتتمكن أمه ورفاقها من رؤيتهم وسماعهم يتكلمون 6 وبعد أن أنهض كل واحد منهم عزَّاهم قائلا : أن هؤلاء هم سفراء الله جبريل الذي يعلن أسرار الله 8 وميخائيل الذي يحارب أعداء الله 9 ورفائيل الذي يقبض أرواح الميتين 10 وأوريل الذي ينادي إلي دينونة الله (ب) في اليوم الآخر ( [3] ) 11 ثم قص الملائكة الأربعة على العذراء كيف أن الله أرسل إلي يسوع وغيَّر ( صورة ) يهوذا ليكابد العذاب الذي باع له آخر ( [4] )12 حينئذ قال الذي يكتب : يا معلم

[1] The mission of the Angels here is different from what is common in Islamic thinking, Ezrael ( Uriel) (PBUH) is responsible of collecting souls of dead, Israfil ( Rafael)( PBUH) is responsible of calling for the Judgment day, Michael some times share Gabriel ( PBUT) in sending God’s words.
