shall not hate his father and his mother, and his own life, and children and wife for love of God, that such an one is not worthy to be loved of God[1].
10 Peter answered: ‘O master, it is written in the law of God in the book of Moses: “ honour thy father, that thou mayest live long upon the earth.” 11 And further he saith: “cursed be the son that obeyeth not his father and his mother”; 12 wherefore God commanded that such a disobedient son should be by the wrath of the people stoned before the gate of the city. 13 And now how biddest thou us to hate father and mother?
14 Jesus answered :’Every word of mine is true, 15 because it is not mine, but God’s who hath sent me to the house of Israel. 16 Therefore I say unto you that all that which ye possess God hath bestowed it upon you[2]: 17 and so whether is the more precious, the gift or the giver? 18 when thy father and thy mother with every other thing is a stumbling-block to thee in the service of God, abandon them as enemies. 19 Did not God say to Abraham: “Go

لا يبغض أباه وأمه وحياته وأولاده وامرأته لأجل محبة الله ( [1] ) فمثل هذا ليس أهلا أن يحبه الله (ا)10 أجاب بطرس :
يا معلم لقد كتب في ناموس الله في كتاب موسى " أكرم أباك لتعيش طويلا على الأرض " ( [2] ) 11 ثم يقول أيضا " ليكن ملعونا الابن الذي لا يطيع أباه وأمه "( [3] ) 12 ولذلك أمر الله أن يرجم مثل هذا الابن العقوق أمام باب المدينة وجوبا ( [4] ) بغضب الشعب 13 فكيف تأمرنا أن نبغض أبانا وأمنا؟ 14 أجاب يسوع كل كلمة من كلماتي صادقة 15 لأنها ليست مني بل من الله الذي أرسلني ([5] ) إلى بيت إسرائيل 16 لذلك أقول لكم إن كل ما عندكم قد أنعم الله به عليكم (ا) 17 فأي الأمرين أعظم قيمة ؟ العطية أم المعطي؟ 18 فمتى كان أبوك وأمك أو غيرهما عثرة لك في خدمة الله فانبذهم كأنهم أعداء ( [6] ) 19 أ لم يقل الله لإبراهيم :" أخرج من بيت أبيك وأهلك ( [7] ) وتعال اسكن في الأرض التي
