69 And having said this he gave blows and kicks to Abraham and chased him from the house.’
[27][1]In this chapter is clearly seen how improper is laughter in men: also the prudence of Abraham.
1 The disciples laughed over the madness of the old man, and stood amazed at the prudence of Abraham. 2 But Jesus reproved them, saying: ’ye have forgotten the words of the prophet, Who saith: “Present laughter is a herald of weeping to come”. 3 And further, “thou shalt not go where is laughter, but sit where they weep, 4 because this life passeth in miseries”. 5 Then said Jesus : In the time of Moses, know ye not that for laughing and mocking at others 6 God turned into hideous beasts many men of Egypt [2]? 7 Beware that in anywise ye laugh not at any one, for ye shall surely weep [for it][3].
8 The disciples answered: ‘We laughed over the madness of the old man.’
9 Then said Jesus :’Verily I say unto you, every like loveth his like[4], and therein findeth pleasure. 10 Therefore, if ye ware not mad ye would not laugh at madness.’
11 They answered: ’May God have mercy on us [5].,
12 Said Jesus: so be it.
13 Then said Philip: ‘O master, how
[1] the chapter of the madman.
[2] There was a party in the time of Moses who ridiculed people and laughed at them; God changed the m into the likeness of brute beasts because of their mockery.
[3] Do not laugh ever, else you will weep.
[4] Like is with like.
[5] I ask God’s pardon.
69 ولما قال هذا ضرب إبراهيم ورفسه وطرده من البيت .
الفصل السابع والعشرون (ا)
يوضح هذا الفصل عدم لياقة الضحك بالناس
وفطنة إبراهيم
1 فضحك التلاميذ من حمق الشيخ ووقفوا منذهلين من فطنة إبراهيم 2 ولكن يسوع وبخهم قائلا :" لقد نسيتم كلام النبي القائل :" الضحك العاجل نذير البكاء الآجل " 3 وأيضا " لا تذهب إلى حيث الضحك بل اجلس حيث ينوحون 4 لأن هذه الحياة تنقضي في الشقاء ( [1] ) " 5 ثم قال يسوع : " ألا تعلمون أن الله في زمن موسى مسخ ناسا كثيرين في مصر (ب) حيوانات مخوفة 6 لأنهم ضحكوا واستهزؤا بالآخرين ( [2] ) 7 احذروا من أن تضحكوا من أحد ما ( [3] ) لأنكم بكاء تبكون (ج) بسببه 8 فأجاب التلاميذ : إننا ضحكنا من حماقة الشيخ 9 فأجاب حينئذ يسوع : الحق أقول لكم كل نظير يحب نظيره (د) فيجد في ذلك مسرة 10 ولذلك لو لم تكونوا أغبياء لما ضحكتم من الغباوة 11 أجابوا : ليرحمنا الله (هـ ) 12 قال يسوع : ليكن كذلك 13 حينئذ قال فيلبس : يا معلم كيف

ب كانت طائفة في زمان موسى يسخرون قوما ويضحكونهم ( من قوم ويضحكون منهم ) يبدلون الله تعالى صورتهم لاجل السخرتهم ( فبدل الله تعالى صورتهم لأجل سخريتهم) صورة سوء الحيوان ( حيوان سيئ ) منه
ج منه لا تضحك أبدا لأنك تبكي .
د الجنس معا مجنس ( الجنس مع جنسه ) منه
هـ استغفر الله .
