seeing the wounded man, was moved to compassion, and alighted from his horse, and took the wounded man and washed his wounds with wine, and anointed them with ointment, 19 and binding up his wounds for him and comforting him, he set him upon his own horse. 20 Whereupon, having arrived in the evening at the inn, he gave him into the charge of the host. 21 And when he had risen on the morrow he said :”Take care of this man, and I will pay thee all.” 22 And having presented four gold pieces to the sick man for the host, he said: “Be of good cheer, for I will speedily return and conduct thee to my own home.”
23 Tell me, said Jesus ‘which of these was the neighbour?’
24 The doctor answered:’ he who showed mercy’.
25 Then said Jesus: “Thou hast answered rightly; 26 therefore go and do thou likewise.’
27 The doctor departed in confusion.

1 Then drew near unto Jesus the priests, and said: ‘Master, is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar? 2 Jesus turned round to Judas. and said : ‘Hast thou any money? 3 And taking a penny in his hand, Jesus turned himself to the priests, and said to them:’ this penny hath an image tell me, whose image is it?’
4 They answered: ‘Caesar’s.’
5 Give therefore’, said Jesus, ‘that which is Caesar’s to Caesar, and that which is God’s give it to God.’
6 Then they departed in confusion.
18 فلما رأى الجريح عطف عليه وترجل عن فرسه وأخذ الجريح وغسل جراحه بخمر ودهنها بدهن 19 وبعد أن ضمد جراحه وعزاه أركبه على فرسه 20 ولما بلغ في المساء النزل سلمه إلى عناية صاحبه 21 ولما نهض صباحا قال :" اعتن بهذا الرجل وأنا أدفع لك كل شئ " 22 وبعد أن قدم أربع قطع من الذهب للعليل لأجل صاحب النزل قال :" تعزى لأني أعود سريعا وأذهب بك إلى بيتي " 33 قال يسوع : " قل لي أيهم كان القريب؟" 24 أجاب الفقيه :" الذي أظهر الرحمة " 25 حينئذ قال يسوع :" قد أجبت الصواب 26 فاذهب وافعل كذلك 27 فانصرف الفقيه بالخيبة.
الفصل الحادي والثلاثون (ا)
1 فاقترب الكهنة حينئذ إلى يسوع ( [1] ) وقالوا : يا معلم أ يجوز أن تعطى جزية لقيصر ؟ 2 فالتفت يسوع ليهوذا وقال :" هل معك نقود ؟" 3 ثم أخذ يسوع بيده فلسا والتفت إلى الكهنة وقال لهم :" إن على هذا الفلس صورة فقولوا لي صورة من هي ؟ 4 فأجابوا صورة قيصر 5 فقال يسوع :" أعطوا إذا ما لقيصر لقيصر وأعطوا ما لله لله 6 حينئذ انصرفوا بالخيبة
