7 And behold there drew nigh a centurion, saying: ‘Lord, my son is sick; have mercy on my old age!’
8 Jesus answered: ’The lord God[1] of Israel have mercy on thee.’
9 The man was departing and Jesus said: ‘wait for me 10 for I will come to thine house, to make prayer over thy son.’
11 The centurion answered: ‘Lord, I am not worthy that thou a prophet of God, shouldest come unto my house, 12 sufficient unto me is the word that thou hast spoken for the healing of my son; 13 for thy God hath made thee lord over every sickness, even as his angel said unto me in my sleep.’
14 Then Jesus marvelled greatly, 15 and turning to the crowd, he said: ‘ Behold this stranger, for he hath more faith than all that I have found in Israel.’ 16 And turning to the centurion, he said: ‘Go in peace , because God[2] , for the great faith that he hath given thee, hath granted health to they son.’
17 The centurion went his way, 18 and on the road he met his servants, who announced to him how his son was healed. 19 The man answered: ‘At what hour did the fever leave him?’ 20 They said:’ Yesterday, at the sixth hour, the heat departed from him.’
21 The man knew that when Jesus said: ‘The lord god[3] of Israel have mercy on thee,’
واقترب قائد مائة ( [1] ) قائلا :" يا سيد إن ابني مريض فارحم شيخوختي 8 أجاب يسوع ليرحمك الرب إله إسرائيل (ا) 9 ولما كان الرجل منصرفا قال يسوع :" انتظرني 10 لأني آت إلى بيتك لأصلي على ابنك 11 أجاب قائد المائة :" يا سيد إني لست أهلا وأنت نبي الله أن تأتي إلى بيتي 12 تكفيني كلمتك التي تكلمت بها لشفاء ابني 13 لأن إلهك قد جعلك سيدا على كل مرض كما قال لي ملاكه في المنام 14 فتعجب حينئذ يسوع كثيرا 15 وقال ملتفتا إلى الجمع : " انظروا هذا الأجنبي لأن فيه إيمانا أكثر من وجد في إسرائيل 16 ثم التفت إلى قائد المائة وقال اذهب بسلام لأن الله (ب) منح ابنك صحة لأجل الإيمان العظيم الذي أعطاكه( أعطاه إياك) 17 فمضى قائد المائة في طريقه 18 ( [2] ) والتقى في الطريق بخدمته الذين أخبروه أن ابنه قد برئ 19 أجاب الرجل : " في أي ساعة تركته الحمى ؟" 20 فقالوا له "أمس في الساعة السادسة انصرفت عنه الحمى" 21 فعلم الرجل أنه لما قال يسوع " ليرحمك الرب إله(ا ) إسرائيل "
