his son received his health. 22 Whereupon the man believed in our God, 23 and having entered into his house, he brake in pieces all his own gods, saying: ‘there is only the God of Israel, the true and living God (a) ( [1] ). 24 Therefore said he :’None shall eat of my bread that worshippeth not the God of Israel.’

1 One skilled in the law invited Jesus to supper ( [2] ), in order to tempt him. 2 Jesus came thither with his disciples, 3 and many scribes to tempt him, waited for him in the house. 4 Whereupon, the disciples sat down to table without washing their hands. 5 The scribes called Jesus, saying wherefore do not thy disciples observe the traditions of our elders, in not washing their hands before they eat bread?
6 Jesus answered: ‘and I ask you, for what cause have ye annulled the precept of God to observe your traditions (c)? 7 Ye say to the sons of poor fathers: “offer and make vows unto the temple.” And they make vows of that little wherewith they ought to support their fathers. 9 And when their fathers wish to take money, the sons cry out : “this money is consecrated to

استرد ابنه صحته 22 لذلك آمن الرجل بإلهنا 23 ولما دخل بيته حطم كل آلهته تحطيما قائلا :" ليس الإله الحقيقي الحي سوى إله إسرائيل (ا) ( [3] ) 24 لذلك قال :" لا يأكل خبزي أحد لم يعبد إله إسرائيل".
الفصل الثاني والثلاثون (ب)
1 ودعا أحد المتضلعين من الشريعة يسوع للعشاء ( [4]) ليجربه 2 فجاء يسوع إلى هناك مع تلاميذه 3 وكثيرون من الكتبة انتظروه في البيت ليجربوه 4 فجلس التلاميذ إلى المائدة دون أن يغسلوا أيديهم 5 فدعا الكتبة يسوع قائلين :" لماذا لا يحفظ تلاميذك تقاليد شيوخنا بعدم غسل أيديهم قبل أن يأكلوا خبزا ؟ 6 أجاب يسوع :" وأنا أسألكم لأي سبب أبطلتم شريعة الله لتحفظوا تقاليدكم ( ج) ؟ 7 تقولون لأولاد الآباء الفقراء " قدموا وانذروا نذورا للهيكل " 8 وهم إنما يجعلون نذورا من النزر الذي يجب أن يعولوا به آباءهم 9 وإذا أحب آباؤهم أن يأخذوا نقودا يصرخ الأبناء " إن هذه النقود نذر
