of Satan and perish in the judgement of God.9 Therefore beware of every one that preacheth unto you new doctrine contrary to that which I write, that ye may be saved eternally.
10 The great God (a) be with you and guard you from Satan and from every evil. Amen.
[1] In this first chapter is contained the annunciation of the(b) angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary concerning the birth of Jesus.
1 In these last years( [1] ) a virgin called Mary, of the lineage of David, of the tribe of Judah ( [2] ), was visited by the angel Gabriel from God.2 This virgin, living in all holiness without any offence, being blameless, and abiding in prayer with fastings, ( [3] )being one day alone, there entered into her chamber the angel Gabriel (c)and he saluted her, saying: ‘God be with thee, O Mary ‘.
3The virgin was affrighted at the appearance of the angel;
4 but the angel comforted her, saying: ‘Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favour with God who hath chosen thee to be mother of a prophet, whom he will send to the people of Israel in order that they may walk in his laws

الشيطان فتهلكوا في دينونة الله 9 وعليه فاحذروا كل أحد يبشركم بتعليم جديد مضاد لما أكتبه لتخلصوا خلاصا أبديا.
10 وليكن الله العظيم (ا )معكم وليحرسكم من الشيطان ومن كل شر آمين.
الفصل الأول
بشري (ب ) جبريل للعذراء مريم بولادة المسيح
لقد بعث الله في هذه الأيام ([4])الأخيرة بالملاك جبريل إلي عذراء تدعى مريم من نسل داود من سبط يهوذا ([5]) 2 بينما كانت هذه العذراء العائشة بكل طهر بدون أدني ذنب المنزهة عن اللوم المثابرة على الصلاة مع الصوم ([6] ) يوما ما وحدها وإذا بالملاك جبريل ( ج) قد دخل مخدعها وسلم عليها قائلا : ليكن الله معك يا مريم 3 فارتاعت العذراء من ظهور الملاك 4 ولكن الملاك سكّن روعها قائلا : لا تخافي يا مريم لأنك قد نلت نعمة من لدن الله ([7])الذي اختارك لتكوني أم نبي يبعثه إلى شعب إسرائيل ليسلكوا في شرائعه
