God loveth thee

God loveth thee (a), 7 but how shall the world know the love that thou bearest to God? 8 Assuredly it is necessary that thou do something for love of God.” 9 Abraham answered: ‘Behold the servant of God, ready to do all that which God shall will.” 10 Then spake God saying to Abraham: “Take thy son thy firstborn ( [1] )Ishmael, and come up the mountain to sacrifice him (b).” 11 How is Isaac firstborn, if when Isaac was born Ishmael was ( [2] ) seven years old?’

12 Then said the disciples: ‘Clear is the deception of our doctors: 13 therefore tell us thou the truth, because we know that thou art sent from God (c)’

14 Then answered Jesus: ‘verily I say unto you, that Satan ever seeketh to annul the laws of God; 15 and therefore he with his followers hypocrites and evil doers, 16 the former with false doctrine, the latter with lewd living, to-day have contaminated almost all things, 17 so that scarcely is the truth found (d). 18 Woe to the hypocrites! for the praises of this world shall turn for them into insults and torments in hell.

19 ‘I therefore say unto you that the messenger of God (e) is a splendour (f) (g) that shall give gladness to nearly all that God hath made, 20 for he is adorned ( [3] )with the spirit of understanding and of counsel, 21 the spirit of wisdom and might,

كيف يحبك الله (ا) 7 ولكن كيف يعلم العالم محبتك لله 8 حقا يجب عليك أن تفعل شيئا لأجل محبة الله "9 أجاب إبراهيم :" ها هو عبد الله مستعد أن يفعل كل ما يريد الله " 10 فكلم الله حينئذ إبراهيم قائلا :" خذ ابنك بكرك ( [4] ) إسماعيل واصعد الجبل لتقدمه ذبيحة (ب)" 11 فكيف يكون إسحاق البكر وهو لما ولد كان إسماعيل ابن سبع سنين ( [5] )؟ 12 فقال حينئذ التلاميذ :" إن خداع الفقهاء لجلي 13 لذلك قل لنا أنت الحق لأننا نعلم أنك مرسل (ج) من الله 14 فأجاب حينئذ يسوع :" الحق أقول لكم أن الشيطان يحاول دائما إبطال شريعة الله 15 فلذلك قد نجّس هو وأتباعه والمراءون وصانعوا الشر كل شئ اليوم 16 الأولون بالتعليم الكاذب والآخرون بمعيشة الخلاعة 17 حتى لا يكاد يوجد (د) الحق تقريبا 18 ويل للمرائين لأن مدح هذا العالم سينقلب عليهم إهانة وعذابا في الجحيم 19 لذلك أقول لكم أن رسول الله (هـ) بهاء (و)(ز) يسرّ كل ما صنع الله تقريبا 20 لأنه مزدان ( [6] ) بروح الفهم والمشورة 21 روح الحكمة والقوة

[1] Genesis 22: 12,16, there it is “ only son” i.e. his firstborn ,since it is impossible that the second child be an “only one”.

[2] In Genesis 17:25 Ishmael was thirteen years old , but if we compared Genesis 16:16 with Genesis 21 :5 he was fourteen years old. In As-Saffat 37:101 _ 112 who was to be offered was Ishmael , and that begetting Isaac was one of God’s prizes to Abraham (Ibraheem) for offering his son to God. See also chapter 67:2.3, chapter 13:15, chapter 43:20 _ 31.

[4] تكوين 22 : 12 ، 16 ، وهو هناك ابنك وحيدك بمعنى أنه البكر فلا يمكن أن يكون غير البكر وحيده (إبراهيم ).

[5] في تكوين 17 :25 كان إسماعيل ابن ثلاثة عشر سنة أما بمقارنة تكوين 16 :16 مع تكوين 21 :5 فقد كان ابن أربعة عشر سنة ، أما الصافات : 101 ـ 112 فقد كان الذي سيذبح هو إسماعيل عندما بلغ السعي وأن ولادة إسحاق كانت من ضمن هبة الله لإبراهيم على تقديمه ابنه إسماعيل عليهم جميعا السلام . وانظر أيضا فصل 67 :2 ، 3 ، فصل 13 : 15 ، فصل 43 :20 ـ31 .
