tomorrow he will be fain to despoil thee. 17 Woe, then to the hypocrites, because their reward is vain(a). 18 As God liveth, in whose presence I stand, the hypocrite is a robber 19 and commiteth sacrilege, inasmuch as he maketh use of the law to appear good, and thieveth the honour of God, to whom alone pertaineth praise ( [1] )and honour for ever.
21 Furthermore I say to you, that the hypocrite hath not faith (b) 22 forasmuch as if he believed that God seeth all (c) and with terrible judgement would punish wickedness, he would purify his heart which because he hath not faith, he keepeth full of iniquity (d). 23 Verily I say unto you that the hypocrite is as a sepulchre ( [2] ). That without is white, 24 but within is full of corruption and worms. 25 So then if ye O priests do the service of God because God hath created you (e) and asketh it of you, I speak not against you, for ye are servants of God; 26 but if ye do all for gain, 27 and so buy and sell in the temple as in a market place, 28 not regarding that the temple of God is a house of prayer and not of merchandise, which ye ( [3] ) convert into a cave of robbers ( [4] ), 29 if ye do all to please men,

سلبك غدا 17 ويل إذا للمرائين لأن جزاءهم باطل (ا) 18 لعمر الله (ب) الذي أقف في حضرته إن المرائي لص 19 ويرتكب التجديف لأنه يتذرع بالشريعة ليظهر صالحا 20 ويختلس مجد الله الذي له وحده الحمد ( [5] ) والمجد إلى الأبد 21 ثم أقول لكم أيضا إنه ليس للمرائي إيمان (ج) 22 لأنه لو آمن بأن الله يرى كل شئ (د) وأنه يقاص الإثم بدينونة مخوفة لكان ينقي قلبه الذي يبقيه ممتلئا بالإثم لأنه لا إيمان (هـ) له 23 الحق أقول لكم إن المرائي كقبر ( [6] ) أبيض من الخارج 24 ولكنه مملوء فسادا وديدانا 25 فإذا كنتم أيها الكهنة تعبدون الله لأن الله خلقكم (و) ويطلب ذلك منكم فلا أندد بكم لأنكم خدمة الله 26 ولكن إذا كنتم تفعلون كل شئ لأجل الربح 27 وتبيعون وتشترون في الهيكل كما في السوق 28 غير حاسبين أن هيكل الله بيت للصلاة لا للتجارة ( [7] ) وأنتم تحولونه مغارة لصوص ( [8] )29 وإذا كنتم تفعلون كل شئ لترضوا الناس

ج ان المنافقين لكافرون منه
د الله يسير كل شئ ( بصير بكل شئ )
هـ ان المنافقون لفاسقون
