the service of the enemy of him who gave them the money; speaking evil of him. 10 Tell me now, when the neighbour shall call the debtors to account how shall the matter go? 11 Assuredly he will reward those who traded well 12 but against the others his anger shall vent itself in reproaches. 13 and then he will punish them according to the law. 14 As God liveth(a), in whose presence my soul standeth, the neighbour is God(b), who has given to man(c) all that he hath with life itself, 15 so that, [man] living well in this world, God may have praise ( [1] ), and man the glory of paradise. 16 For those who live well double their money by their example, 17 because sinners, seeing their example, are converted to repentance; 18 wherefore men who live well shall be rewarded with a great reward. 19 But wicked sinners, who by their sins halve what God has given them (d), by their lives spent in the service of Satan the enemy of God, blaspheming God and giving offence to others, tell me what shall be their punishment? 20 It shall be without measure, said the disciples.

في خدمه عدو من أعطاهم النقود وتكلموا فيه بالسوء 10 فقولوا لي كيف تكون الحال متي حاسب المديونين ؟11انه بدون ريب يجزى أولئك الذين أحسنوا التجارة 12 ولكنه يشفي غيظه من الآخرين بالتوبيخ 13 ثم يقتص منهم بحسب الشريعة 14 لعمر الله (ا) الذي تقف نفسي في حضرته أن الجار (ب) هو الله الذي أعطى (ج) الإنسان كل ماله مع الحياة نفسها 15 حتى أنه إذا أحسن المعيشة في هذا العالم يكون لله مجد ( [2] ) ويكون للإنسان مجد الجنة 16 لأن الذين يحسنون المعيشة يضاعفون نقودهم بكونهم قدوة 17 لأنه متي رآهم الخطاة قدوة تحولوا إلى التوبة 18 ولذلك يجزى الذين يحسنون المعيشة جزاءا عظيما 19 ولكن قولوا لي ماذا يكون قصاص الخطاة الأثمة الذين بخطاياهم ينصّفون ما أعطاهم (د ) الله بما يصرفون حياتهم في خدمة الشيطان عدو الله مجدّفين على الله ومسيئين إلى الآخرين ؟20 قال التلاميذ أنه سيكون بغير حساب.

[1] It may be understood from this that God benefits from those who worship him; but God is Glorified from all his creatures whether they accept it or not, as said in Quran Al-’Imran 3:83, Ar-Ra’ad 13: 15. Those who does not glorify Him by their awn will does not hurt him; but hurt themselves, as in Al-Baqarah 2:57, Al-A’raf 7: 160. God is able to convert all to his worshiping; but he means to examine people, as said in Al-Ma’idah5:48, Al-An’am 6:35, Yunus 10:99.

[2] قد يفهم من هذا أن الله يستفيد ممن يعبدونه . ولكن الله ممجد من جميع مخلوقاته سواءًِِِِ رضوا أم لا كما يفهم من الآيات آل عمران : 83 ، الرعد :15. والذين لا يعظمونه برضاهم لا يظلمونه ولكنهم يظلمون أنفسهم كما هو واضح من البقرة:57 ،و الأعراف :160 . ويستطيع الله أن يحيل الجميع لعبادته ولكنه يريد أن يمتحن الناس ، كما تقول الآيات المائدة :48 ، الأنعام :35، يونس :99.
