thou wouldst kill Shimei? 14 Let him curse me, for this is the will of God, who will turn this curse into a blessing( [1] ).” 15 And thus it was for God saw (a) the patience of David and delivered him from the persecution of his own son, Absalom.
16 Assuredly not a leaf stirreth without the will of God ( [2] ). 17 wherefore, when thou art in tribulation do not think of how much thou hast borne, nor of him who afflicteth thee; 18 but consider how much for thy sins thou art worthy to receive at the hand of the devils of hell(b)( [3] ). 19 ye are angry with this city because it would not receive us, 20 nor sell bread to us. Tell me, are these people your slaves? 21 Have ye given them this city? 22 Have ye given them their corn? 23 have ye helped them to reap it?24 Assuredly no; 25 ye are strangers in this land and poor men. 26 What thing is this then that thou sayest?
27 The two disciples answered: ‘lord we have sinned; may God have mercy on us (c).’
28 And jesus answered: ‘so be it.’

أنك تود أن تقتل شمعاي 14 دعه يلعنني لأن هذا بإرادة الله الذي سيحول هذه اللعنة إلى بركة ( [4] ) 15 وهكذا كان لأن الله رأى صبر (ا) داود وأنقذه من اضطهاد ابنه ابشالوم 16 حقا لا تتحرك ورقة بدون إرادة الله ( [5] )17 فإذا كنت في ضيق فلا تفكر في مقدار ما احتملت ولا فيمن أصابك بمكروه 18 بل تأمل كم تستحق أن يصيبك على يد الشياطين في الجحيم (ب) بسبب خطاياك ( [6] ) 19 إنكم حانقون على هذه المدينة لأنها لم تقبلنا 20 ولم تبع لنا خبزا قولوا لي أ هؤلاء القوم عبيدكم ؟ 21 أ وهبتموهم هذه المدينة ؟ 22 أ وهبتموهم حنطتهم ؟ أو ساعدتموهم في حصادها ؟ كلا ثم كلا 25 لأنكم غرباء في هذه البلاد وفقراء 26 فما هو إذا هذا الشيء الذي تقوله؟ 27 فأجاب التلميذان :" يا سيد إننا أخطأنا فليرحمنا الله (ج)" 28 فأجاب يسوع :" ليكن كذلك ".
