multitude of angels blessing God, 9 announcing peace to them that have good will.( [1] )10 When the angels were departed, the shepherds spake among themselves, saying: 11 ‘Let us go even. unto Bethlehem, and see the word ( [2] ) which God by his angel hath announced to us.’ 12 There came many shepherds to bethlehem seeking the new-born babe, 13 and they found outside the city the child that was born, according to the word of the angel, lying in the manger. 14 They therefore made obeisance to him, and gave to the mother that which they had,( [3] ) announcing to her, what they had heard and seen. 15 Mary therefore kept all these things in her heart, and Joseph [likewise], giving thanks to God. 16 The shepherds returned to their flock, announcing to every one how great a thing they had seen. 17 And so the whole hill-country of Judaea was filled with fear, 18 and- every man laid up this word in his heart, saying: ( [4] )‘ What, think we, shall this child be?

1 When the eight days ( [5] were fulfilled according to the law of the Lord, as it is written in the book
من الملائكة يسبحون الله 9 ويبشرون الأخيار ( [6] )بسلام 10 ولما انصرفت الملائكة تكلم الرعاة فيما بينهم قائلين 11 :لنذهب إلى بيت لحم وننظر الكلمة ( [7] )التي كلمنا بها الله بواسطة ملاكه 12 وجاء رعاة كثيرون إلى بيت لحم يطلبون الطفل المولود حديثا 13 فوجدوا الطفل المولود مضطجعا في المذود خارج المدينة حسب كلام الملاك 14 فسجدوا له وقدموا للأم ما كان معهم ( [8] )وأخبروها بما سمعوا وأبصروا 15 فأسرّت مريم هذه الأمور في قلبها ويوسف أيضا شاكرين لله 16 فعاد الرعاة إلى قطيعهم يقولون لكل أحد ما أعظم ما رأوا 17 فارتاعت حبال اليهودية كلها 18 ووضع كل رجل الكلمة في قلبه قائلا : ما سيكون هذا الطفل يا ترى ؟ ( [9] ).
