many strangers who were standing in idleness, and had no money 18 To them he spake, and led them to his vineyard. 19 But verily none that knew him and had work for his hands went thither.
20 ‘He is Satan, that one who payeth ill; 21 for he giveth labour, and man receiveth for it the eternal fires in his service. 22 Wherefore he hath gone forth from paradise, and goeth in search of labourers. 23 Assuredly he setteth to his labours those who stand in idleness whosoever they be but much more those who know him not. 24 It is not in any wise enough for any one to know evil in order to escape it, but it behoveth to work at good in order to overcome it.( [1] )’

كثيرين من الغرباء البطالين المفاليس 18 فكلم هؤلاء وقادهم إلى كرمه 19 أما الذين كانوا قد عرفوه واشتغلوا معه قبلا فلم يذهب أحدا إلى هناك 20 فالذي يسيء الأداء هو الشيطان 21لأنه يعطي شغلا فيكون جزاء الإنسان في خدمته النيران الأبدية 22 فهو لذلك قد خرج من الجنة ويجول باحثا عن فعلة 23 وهو إنما يأخذ لعمله الكسالى أيا كانوا على الخصوص الذين لا يعرفونه 24 ولا يكفى مطلقا للهرب من الشر أن يعرفه الإنسان لينجو منه بل يجب فعل الصالحات للتغلب عليه ( [3]).
الفصل السادس والسبعون (ا)
1 إني أضرب لكم مثلا ( [4] ) 2 كان لرجل ثلاثة كروم أجرها لثلاثة كرامين 3 ولما لم يعرف الأول كيف يحرث الكرم لم يخرج الكرم سوى أوراق 4 أما الثاني فعلم الثالث كيف يحرث الكروم 5 فأصغى لكلماته وحرث كرمه كما أرشده
