he had him beaten without any mercy. 20 And then he put him into prison under the keeping of a cruel servant who beat him every day, 21 and never was willing to set him free for prayers of his friends.’

1 Verily I say unto you, that on the day of judgement many shall say to God( [1] ): “lord, we have preached and taught by thy law.” 2 Against them even the stones shall cry out, saying: “when ye preached to others, with your own tongue ye condemned yourselves, O workers of iniquity.”
3 ‘As God liveth’(b), said Jesus, ‘he who knoweth the truth and worketh the contrary shall be punished with such grievous penalty that Satan shall almost have compassion on him(c). 4 Tell me, now hath our? God given(d) us the law for knowing or for working? 5 Verily I say unto you that all knowledge hath for end that wisdom which worketh all it knoweth.
6 ‘Tell me, if one were sitting at table and with

وأمر بضربه بدون رحمة 20 ثم وضعه في السجن تحت سيطرة خادم جاف كان يضربه كل يوم 21 ولم يرد مطلقا أن يطلقه لأجل شفاعة أصدقائه .
الفصل السابع والسبعون (ا)
1 الحق أقول لكم أن كثيرين سيقولون لله يوم ( [2] ) الدينونة : " يا رب لقد بشرنا وعلمنا بشريعتك " 2 ولكن الحجارة نفسها ستصرخ ضدهم قائلة : "لما كنتم قد بشرتم الآخرين فبلسانكم قد أذنتم أنفسكم يا فاعلي الإثم " 3 قال يسوع : لعمر الله (ب) أن من يعرف الحق ويفعل عكسه يعاقب عقابا أليما حتى تكاد الشياطين ترثى له (ج) 4ألا قولوا لي أ للعلم أم للعمل أعطانا الله (د) الشريعة ؟ 5 الحق أقول لكم أن غاية كل علم هي تلك الحكمة التي تفعل كل ما تعلم 6 قولوا لي إذا كان أحد جالسا على المائدة
