that our God in creating man not only created him righteous, but inserted in his heart a light that should show to him that it is fitting to serve God ( [1] ). 16 wherefore, even if this light be darkened after sin, yet is it not extinguished. 17 For every nation hath this desire to serve God, though they have lost God and serve false and lying gods( [2] ). 18 Accordingly it is necessary that a man be taught of the prophets of God, for they have clear the light to teach the way to go to paradise, our country by serving God well: 19 just as it is necessary that he who hath his eyes diseased should be guided and helped.’

1 James answered; ‘And how shall the prophets teach us if they are dead; 2 and how shall he be taught who hath not knowledge of the prophets?

3 Jesus answered: ‘their doctrine is written down so that it ought to be studied for [the writing] is to thee for a prophet ( [3] ). 4 Verily verily I say unto thee that he-who despiseth the prophecy despiseth not only the prophet, but despiseth

إن إلهنا لما خلق الإنسان لم يخلقه بارا فقط بل وضع في قلبه نورا يريه أنه خليق به خدمة الله ( [4] )16 فلئن أظلم هذا النور بعد الخطيئة لا ينطفئ 17 لأن لكل أمّة هذه الرغبة في خدمة الله مع أنهم قد فقدوا الله وعبدوا آلهة باطلة وكاذبة ( [5] ) 18 ولذلك وجب أن يعلم الإنسان عن أنبياء الله لأن النور الذي يعلمهم طريق الذهاب إلى الجنة وطننا بخدمة الله واضح 19 كما يجب أن يقاد ويداوي من في عينيه رمد .

1 أجاب يعقوب : وكيف يعلمنا الأنبياء وهم أموات 2 وكيف يعلم من لا معرفة له بالأنبياء ؟ 3 فأجاب يسوع : إن تعليمهم مدون فتجب مطالعته لأن الكتابة بمثابة نبي لك ( [6] )4 الحق أقول لك أن من يمتهن النبوة لا يمتهن النبي فقط

[5] يقصد أن كل الناس قد بحثوا عن إله لهم بفطرتهم ولكن بعضهم ضل وعبد ما ليس بإله ولهؤلاء الضالين يرسل الله أنبياءه ليهدوهم إلى الإله الحق.
