studieth only to please a body that is clay and dung, and studieth not but forgetteth the service of God who hath made all things; who is blessed ( [1] )for evermore.’

1 Tell me would it have been a great sin of the priests if when they were carrying the ark of the testimony of God they had let it fall to the ground?’

2 The disciples trembled hearing this, for they knew that God slew (b)([2] ) Uzzah for having wrongly touched the ark of God. 3 And they said: ‘Most grievous would be such a sin.’

4 Then said Jesus: ‘As God liveth (c), it is a greater sin to forget the word of God, wherewith he made all things (d), whereby he offereth thee eternal life ( [3] ) .’

5 And having said this Jesus made prayer; and after his prayer he said: ‘To-morrow we needs must pass into Samaria, for so hath said unto me the holy angel of God.’

يحاول أن يرضي جسدا ليس سوى طين وسرقين ولا يحاول بل ينسى خدمة الله الذي خلق كل شيء المجيد ( [4] ) إلى الأبد.

1 قولوا لي أتحسب خطيئة عظيمة على الكهنة إذا أوقعوا على الأرض تابوت شهادة الله وهم يحملونه ؟ 2 فارتجف التلاميذ لما سمعوا هذا لأنهم كانوا على علم بأن الله قتل ( أمات ) عزة(ب) ( [5] ) لأنه مس تابوت الله خطأ 3 فقالوا إنها لخطيئة كبرى 4 فقال يسوع : لعمر الله (ج) إن نسيان كلمة الله التي بها خلق كل الأشياء (د) والتي بها يقدم لك الحياة الأبدية لخطيئة كبرى ( [6] ) 5 ولما قال يسوع هذا صلي وقال بعد صلاته : لا يجب أن نعبر غدا إلى السامرة لأنه هكذا قال لي ملاك الله القدوس
