6 Early on the morning of a certain day, Jesus arrived near to the well, which Jacob made and gave to Joseph his son( [1] ). 7 Whereupon Jesus, being wearied with the journey, sent his disciples to the city to buy food. 8 And so he sat himself down by the well, upon the stone of the well. And lo, a woman of Samaria cometh to the well to draw water.
9 Jesus saith unto the woman: ‘Give me to drink. 10 The woman answered: ‘Now, art thou not ashamed that thou, being an Hebrew, askest drink of me which am a Samaritan woman?’
11 Jesus answered: ‘O woman, if thou knewst who he is that asketh thee for drink, perchance thou wouldest have asked of him for drink.’
12 The woman answered: ‘Now how shouldest thou give me to drink, seeing thou hast no vessel to draw the water, nor rope, and the well is deep?’
13 Jesus answered: ‘O woman whoso drinketh of the

6وبلغ يسوع باكرا صباح يوم بئرا كان قد صنعها يعقوب ووهبها ليوسف ابنه ( [2] ) 7 ولما أعيى يسوع من السفر أرسل تلاميذه إلى المدينة ليشتروا طعاما 8 فجلس بجانب البئر على حجر البئر وإذا بامرأة من السامرة قد جاءت إلى البئر لتستقي الماء 9 فقال يسوع للمرأة : أعطني لأشرب 10 فأجابت المرأة : ألا تخجل وأنت عبراني أن تطلب مني شربة ماء وأنا امرأة سامرية ؟ 11 أجاب يسوع : أيتها المرأة لو كنت تعلمين من يطلب منك شربة لطلبت أنت منه شربة 12 أجابت المرأة : وكيف تعطيني لأشرب ولا إناء ولا حبل معك لتجذب به الماء والبئر عميقة ؟ 13 أجاب يسوع : أيتها المرأة من يشرب
