water of this well thirst cometh to him again, but whosover drinketh of the water that I give hath thirst no more; but to them that have thirst give they to drink, insomuch that they come to eternal life.’
14 Then said the woman: ‘O lord give me of this thy water.’
15 Jesus answered: ‘Go call thy husband, and to both of you I will give to drink.’
16 Said the woman: ‘I have no husband’
17 Jesus answered: ‘Well hast thou said the truth, for thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband.’
18 The woman was confounded hearing this, and said: ‘lord hereby perceive I that thou art a prophet; 19 therefore tell me I pray: the Hebrews make prayer on mount Sion in the temple built by Solomon in Jerusalem, and say that there and nowhere else [men] find grace and mercy of God(a). 20 And our people worship on these mountains, and say that only on the mountains of Samaria ought

من ماء هذه البئر يعاوده العطش أما من يشرب من الماء الذي أعطيه فلا يعطش أبدا بل يعطي العطاش ليشربوا بحيث يصلون إلى الحياة الأبدية 14 فقالت المرأة : يا سيد اعطني من مائك هذا 15 أجاب يسوع : اذهبي وادعي زوجك وإياكما أعطي لتشربا 16 قالت المرأة ليس لي زوج 17 أجاب يسوع : حسنا قلت الحق لأنه كان لك خمسة أزواج والذي معك الآن ليس هو زوجك 18 فلما سمعت المرأة هذا اضطربت وقالت : يا سيد أرى بهذا أنك نبي 19 لذلك أضرع إليك أن تخبرني ( عما يأتي ) : إن العبرانيين يصلون على جبل صهيون في الهيكل الذي بناه سليمان في أورشليم ويقولون أن نعمة الله ورحمته (ا) توجد هناك لا في موضع آخر 20 أما قومنا فإنهم يسجدون على هذه الجبال ويقولون أن السجود إنما يجب أن يكون على جبال السامرة فقط
