1 Then Jesus gave a sigh and wept saying: ‘Woe to thee Judaea, for thou gloriest, saying:( [1] ) “The temple of the lord, the temple of the lord” and livest as though there were no God; given over wholly to the pleasures and gains of the world; 3 for this woman in the day of judgement shall condemn thee to hell; 4 for this woman seeketh to know how to find grace and mercy before God.’
5 And turning to the woman he said: ( [2] )‘O woman, ye Samaritans worship that which ye know not, but we Hebrews worship that which we know. 6 Verily, I say unto thee, that God is spirit and truth, and so in spirit and in truth must he be worshipped(b). 7 For the promise of God was made in Jerusalem, in the temple of Solomon, and not elsewhere. 8 But believe me(c), a time will come that God will give his mercy in another city, and in every

فمن هم الساجدون الحقيقيون ؟
الفصل الثاني والثمانون (ا)
1 حينئذ تنهد يسوع وبكى قائلا : 2 ويل لك يا بلاد اليهودية لأنك تفخرين قائلة ( [3] ): " هيكل الرب هيكل الرب" وتعيشين كأنه لا إله منغمسة في الملذات ومكاسب العالم 3 فإن هذه المرأة تحكم عليك بالجحيم في يوم الدين 4 لأن هذه المرأة تطلب أن تعرف كيف تجد نعمة ورحمة عند الله 5 ثم التفت إلى المرأة وقال ( [4] ) : أيتها المرأة إنكم أنت السامريين تسجدون لما لا تعرفون أما نحن العبرانيين فنسجد لمن نعرف 6 الحق أقول لك أن الله روح وحق ويجب أن يسجد له (ب) بالروح والحق 7 لأن عهد الله إنما أخذ في أورشليم في هيكل سليمان لا في موضع آخر 8 ولكن صدقيني (ج) أنه يأتي وقت يعطي الله فيه رحمته في مدينة أخرى
