thy hand or thy foot offend thee, do likewise; for it is better that thou go into the kingdom of heaven with one foot or with one hand, than with two hands and two feet go into hell ( [1] ).
7 Said Simon, called Peter: lord how must I do this? Certain it is that in a short time I shall be dismembered.
8 Jesus answered: O Peter, put off fleshly prudence and straightway thou shalt find the truth. 9 For he that teacheth thee is thine eye, and he that helpeth thee to work is thy foot, and he that ministereth aught unto thee is thine hand. 10 Wherefore when such are to thee an occasion of sin leave them, 11 for it is better for thee to go into paradise ignorant, with few works, and poor, than to go into hell wise, with great works, and rich. 12 Everything that may hinder thee from servig God, cast it from thee as man casteth away everything that hindereth his sight (a).
13 And having said this Jesus called Peter close to him, and said unto him:( [2] )

a Every thing that hinders you form serving (God), leave it as you would anything that hinders your vision.

أعثرتك يدك أو رجلك فافعل بهما كذلك لأنه خير لك أن تدخل ملكوت السماء أعرج أو أقطع من أن تدخل الجحيم ولك يدان ورجلان ( [3] )7 فقال سمعان المسمى بطرس : يا سيد كيف يجب أن أفعل هذا ؟ حقا إنني أصير أبتر في زمن وجيز ؟ 8 أجاب يسوع : يا بطرس اخلع الحكمة الجسدية تجد الحق توا 9 لأن من يعلمك هو عينك ومن يساعدك للعمل هو رجلك ومن يخدمك في شيء ما هو يدك 10 فمتى كانت أمثال هذه باعثا على الخطيئة فاتركها 11 لأنه خير لك أن تدخل الجنة جاهلا فقيرا ذا أعمال قليلة من أن تدخل الجحيم بأعمال عظيمة وأنت متعلم غني 12 فاطرح عنك كل ما يمنعك عن خدمة الله كما يطرح الإنسان كل ما يعيق بصره (ا) 13 ولما قال يسوع هذا دعا بطرس إلى جانبه وقال له ( [4] )

ا كل شئ يمنعك عن العبادة اتركه مثل ما اذا وقع ( أعاق ) عينيك منه
