saying: “God hath so said”; “So hath God done” ; “God so willeth” 18 for so doing thou shalt live safely.’

1 At this time there was great disturbance throughout Judea for the sake of Jesus: 2 for that the Roman soldiery, through the operation of Satan, stirred up the Hebrews, saying that Jesus was God come to visit them. 3 Whereupon so great sedition arose, that nigh upon the forty days all Judea was in arms, insomuch that the son was found against the father, and the brother against the brother, 4 for that some said that Jesus was God come to the world’; 5 others said: ‘nay, but he is a son of God’ 6 and others said: ‘Nay for God hath no human similitude, and therefore begetteth not sons; but Jesus of Nazareth is a prophet of God.’
7 And this arose by reason of the great miracles which Jesus did.
8 Thereupon, to quiet the people, it was necessary that the highpriest should ride in procession, clothed in his priestly robes, with the holy name of God (b), the teta-

قائلين : إنما الله قال كذا – إنما الله فعل كذا – إنما الله يريد كذا ( [1] ) 18 لأنك إن فعلت هذا عشت في أمن.
1 وحدث في هذا الزمن اضطراب عظيم في اليهودية كلها لأجل يسوع 2 لأن الجنود الرومانية أثارت بعمل الشيطان العبرانيين قائلين : أن يسوع هو الله قد جاء ليفتقدهم 3 فحدثت بسبب ذلك فتنة كبرى حتى أن اليهودية كلها تدججت بالسلاح مدة الأربعين ( [2] ) يوما فقام الابن على الأب و الأخ على الأخ 4 لأن فريقا قال : " أن يسوع هو الله قد جاء للعالم " 5 وقال فريق آخر : " كلا بل هو ابن الله " 6 وقال آخرون: " كلا لأنه ليس لله شبَه بشري" ( [3] ) ولذلك لا يلد بل إن يسوع الناصري نبي الله (ب) 7 وقد نشأ هذا عن الآيات العظيمة التي فعلها يسوع 8 فترتب على رئيس الكهنة تسكينا للشعب أن يركب في مركب لابسا ثيابه الكهنوتية واسم الله القدوس
