of Moses. 8 When their prayers were ended they departed, having lost Jesus, 9 because they thought that he was returned home with their kinsfolk. 10 Mary therefore returned with Joseph to Jerusalem, seeking Jesus among kinsfolk and neighbours. 11 The third day they found the child in the temple, in the midst of the doctors, disputing with them concerning the law. 12 And every one was amazed at his questions and answers, saying: ‘How can there be such doctrine in him, seeing he is so small and hath not learned to read?( [1] )’
13 Mary reproved him, saying: ‘Son, what hast thou done to us? Behold. I and thy father have sought thee for three days sorrowing.’ 14 Jesus answered: ‘Know ye not that the service of God ought to come before father and mother? ( [2] ) (a )’ 15 Jesus then went down with his mother and Joseph to Nazareth, 16 and was subject to them with humility and reverence.
[10] Jesus, at the age of thirty years, on Mount Olivet, miraculously receiveth the gospel from the angel Gabriel(b)..
1 Jesus having come to the age of thirty years ( [3] ) as he himself said unto me, went up to Mount Olivet with his mother to gather olives. 2 Then at midday

موسى 8 ولما تمت صلواتهم انصرفوا بعد أن فقدوا يسوع 9 لأنهم ظنوا أنه عاد إلى الوطن مع أقربائهم 10 ولذلك عادت مريم مع يوسف إلى أورشليم ينشدان يسوع بين الأقرباء والجيران 11 وفي اليوم الثالث وجدوا الصبي في الهيكل وسط العلماء يحاجهم في أمر الناموس 12 وأعجب كل أحد بأسئلته وأجوبته قائلا : كيف أوتي مثل هذا العلم وهو حدث ولم يتعلم القراءة ( [4] ).
13 فعنّفته مريم قائلة : يا بني ماذا فعلت بنا فقد نشدتك وأبوك ثلاثة أيام ونحن حزينان 14 فأجاب يسوع : ألا تعلمين أن خدمة الله يجب أن تقدم على الأب والأم ( [5] ) (ا ) 15 ثم نزل يسوع مع أمه ويوسف إلى الناصرة 16 وكان مطيعا لهما بتواضع واحترام .
الفصل العاشر
يسوع وهو ابن ثلاثين سنة يتلقى على جبل الزيتون

1 ولما بلغ يسوع ثلاثين سنة ( [6] )من العمر كما أخبرني بذلك بنفسه صعد إلى جبل الزيتون مع أمه ليجني زيتونا 2 وبينما كان يصلي في الظهيرة
